Lightning Lane at Walt Disney World

But:
* An hour is better than 3 hours
* That hour wait is not during park time. So you effectively get more park time
At the cost of less sleep.

You only got 'more' park time if you stayed until closing. In my experience, most folks don't last that long.
Mind, I have been using peripheral park hours for years.

Have you ever gave any of the parks in Orlando a try?
I know you're on something of a mission to convert people to other parks, but I think it's important to note that some (perhaps even many) of us aren't in it for the theme-park experience per se. For me, the crucial factor is Disney itself. I grew up on the brand and love it more than I can describe. It's that Disney magic that I look for and need in my theme-park visits, and no other park, no matter how amazing in itself, can offer that to me.

The only other theme park I would make a point of travelling to is Dollywood, and that's because I'm a huge Dolly fan.

It could easily be solved.

By axing it altogether!

Somehow I doubt that’s what they had in mind. And Len has also been on to clarify that comment which appears to refer to Genie not Genie+ Which is funny because that’s what Len and his team have been doing for many years. And are, arguably perhaps, ahead of Disney at their own game.
No argument here, but my offer still stands. I'm willing to fix darn near anything for $375 million.

fair im just afraid the next product or enhancement will be yet another upcharge that will not solve anything close to what we had with fp and then we can start w the conspiracy this was rolled out intentionally to fail to charge even more money for something that was free lol

Lol....im envisaging.....

"New SUPER GENIE+".....For just $20 more, on top of Genie+, you can now swap your Genie reservations on the fly...its an amazing new product, from the brainchild at Disney. Get it now while stocks last"

Really?

So, you head into the parks in the busy summer months and see FOP at 3 hours wait.....and you don't see rope dropping it 30 minutes before general admission and waiting just 10 minutes for the same ride...and you don't see that as a perk?......really?
I rope dropped FOP thanksgiving week this year and still waited over 2 hours to get on...was a joke

a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.

45minutes of waiting is 45minutes of waiting is 45minutes of waiting....

So you didn't wait 10minutes, you waited 55minutes for that 1st ride.
Nope...I spent 10 minutes IN THE PARK...so I still had what could be 3 hours more in the park than those that turn up later and want to ride FOP.

And as I said...I never wait at a rope drop without a drink or a bite to eat..so its not a biggie. But saving potentially 3 hours in the park is a HUGE biggie

PLUS it has a knock on effect...if I get off FOP 15 minutes after park opening, I will be in the queue for Safari when 'most' the park is queueing in FOP...even better I get of Safari and get over to Everest for 2 or 3 goes while the queue is virtually walk on.

It's not only the (potentially) 2/3 hours saved by rope dropping FOP, im further saving time on subsequent rides while most the people in the park are still in a 2 hour queue for FOP.

Each to their own though...but for me, there isn't really that much more effort needed to get to the park at 8am as it does for 9am...but the benefits in doing so are HUGE....imho of course - but then, some people don't mind wasting 2 to 3 hours ina queue for FOP.

You did something hugely wrong then....I assume your biggest mistake was getting to the park a few minutes before rope drop.

Subsequently, last week I rope dropped in the non-resort queue...so resorters had 30 minutes on me...and we were still on and off the ride in 25 minutes. We used our brains and chose the day AK opened early (7am) and therefore assumed most resort guests wouldn't be heading to AK that early or realise the park opened to Resorters at 7am..which ended up being the right decision.

This is his experience. No need to knock it. I EPA rope dropped FoP on Easter morning, walked on, and got an ILL for a half hour later. Different strokes for different folks. Also sometimes it takes 20 minutes for the ride to come up.

Nope.....got in line 30 mins before official EMH as a resort guest and "fast walked" to FOP and line was wrapped all the way down and around already
On a day like that...one of the busiest days of the year, you really should have grabbed a coffee and a breakfast roll or summat and been at the rope 1 hour before.

Nobody should be waking up at 5-6AM to get to a park at 7AM for a theme park. I love the parks, especially in the morning, but nobody should be penalized for arriving early and not being able to do some things.
