A bit confusing.

If staying at a resort it's saying (possibly) you can buy genie plus and book 1 from Tier A, 2 from Tier B, choose times and also purchase/schedule an ILL 7 days in advance? So both?
For every day of trip?

I'm the opposite of most, I think that takes away spontaneity. I'd have to read up on how easily you can switch options day of.

It's FP+ behind a paywall essentially. You just will still have ILL too.

As for spontaneity it would be like FP+, if you want to change you get whatever is left.

With the availability that there is now it will leave almost nothing day of. At that point they need stop selling Genie+ daily, otherwise you are going to have long lines at guest services every day.

Why not have a middle ground and let those who want to plan can book 1 ahead of time for each day of their trip.

Absolutely. At the end of the day, it's people voluntarily exchanging their money for a product. To each his own.

However, you (like all of us WDW nerds) know exactly what you're getting on a day like yesterday: 15 min and a couple rerides. I would bet that most G+ users are duped by this transparent (to us) wait-time inflation scheme.

When was the last time anyone was given the wait-time lanyard in a queue? Anyone? I used to get that multiple times in one trip. Does anyone even remember those?
We did that at Haunted Mansion way back in 2018.

It can and this will be terrible guaranteed. Unless you're ok with just the 3 you get to book ahead of time. There will be nothing left day of.

It'll most likely be the same or very close to FP+ in form and function with the only difference is that you can't repeat rides.

Maybe. Their was a lot more availability in the FP+ days than there is now. Add in the fact Disney even says to only expect 2-3 LL per day, I can see them letting you have your 3 but that's it.

I think I'd like to be able to buy Genie plus before my trip and schedule one ride, then do rest day of? That should leave more availability.

Or just to be able to purchase and schedule the ILL in advance would be helpful.

IMO that's the best compromise. For every guest who loved to plan out their day, there is just as many that hated that amount of planning.

They’re not going to do anything so minimal.

That 2-3 per day statement was only put in because it's a paid service and they needed small print to point to when people who didn't use it the right way complained.

They need to:

allow prebooking 1 attraction for each day

Allow you to select times for any you book (ahead of time or while you are there)

Give some type of perk for on-site guests

I said this last week somewhere, I think we get:

1. Pre purchase as part of your package.
2. At the very least pre-select at least one attraction prior to check in for each day you have a ticket for. Your 2nd choice will be the park + 2 hour rule

Worst case with #2 we can't select a time and we just take whatever we can get and modify it after the fact.
