Everything Walk ons at 11am?!? I find that hard to believe that anything is a true “walk on” with the lack of capacity they have now but no way i can prove that. Even if i saved 15-20 minutes per ride to me its still worth it especially in the heat. Plus gives you a better chance of re riding attractions as well if you choose to stand in line for those lesser wait times and combo with a Genie…. Just my thoughts on Genie. Yea it stinks that we are stuck paying for something that use to be free and a product that imo is worse than what FP+ was. (Huge fan of pre booking and never had issues getting what i wanted and also getting additional quality ones in the parks) But hey if you rather wait in the “shorter” lines as opposed to paying more power to you. Disney is not cheap no denying that but again neither are other places. Was just at the Shore for 2 days to celebrate the 4th and after room/food/rides/games cost a small fortune lol.
You can find it hard to believe. I was at DHS yesterday. We got there about noon. Literally did not stop walking until we got to the pre-show of runaway on. (Even after the mege point we just kept on walking into one of the rooms). Same with Aerosmith and falcon. Midway mania our first stop was after the merge point when they split the tracks. Literally it would have saved you 15 minutes on Slinky. For $26. And another about 9 minutes if you paid extra for rise.

AK was the day before (maybe 2 days before? Can't remember). We didn't stop on safari til you get to the split for first or second car (well after merge). Dino didn't stop til the merge point. Same with everest. Id guess Navii saved similar to slinky but we didnt go on it. Those two parks this week you legit saved no time. It might save some time at the other parks, but those two have all been walk ons for most everything.

This totally makes sense for one or two people who are hitting the parks commando, but what about the family of five? They're now up to 5x the cost, but they are not "saving" the equivalent 75–100 minutes. They're still only saving the same 15–20 minutes, assuming they're riding at the same time. The time savings is spread across individuals, while the bill piles up for one individual!

Of course, you could make the kids pay for their own G+.... 🤣 (actually my teen paid for the G+ and ILLs this summer)

Family of 3 or 4 when i go depending... to me again still worth it. & no we dont do park commando. there are ways to "save' money if that is an issue going down there Ie staying value vs moderate for instance.

Absolutely. At the end of the day, it's people voluntarily exchanging their money for a product. To each his own.

However, you (like all of us WDW nerds) know exactly what you're getting on a day like yesterday: 15 min and a couple rerides. I would bet that most G+ users are duped by this transparent (to us) wait-time inflation scheme.

When was the last time anyone was given the wait-time lanyard in a queue? Anyone? I used to get that multiple times in one trip. Does anyone even remember those?

Interesting. So they could post highly accurate wait times.... if they wanted to.
They could but they still use it as a tool to push crowds to less trafficked parts of the parks. Falsley increasing the wait time on an attraction may cause some to pass that attraction for the moment and go elsewhere that has only a few people and come back later.

yeah, I think vast majority of people have a budget and if they are now having to allocate a portion of that for things like G+ that $ comes out of another bucket. So maybe lower tier resort, or maybe fewer TS meals, or maybe fewer addons ... one reason why I think we saw that sign indicating there were walk in appointments for BBB - hard to spend on all the "extras" when also spending more on tickets/G+/ILL

Something that hasn't been talked about much recently with Genie+ is the ILL prices. They've been at their max price for a while...$25 per person for RoTR? On top of the price you've already paid to ride everything in the park??

Disney has no incentive to correct wait times, unfortunately. The obvious two reasons are that low posted wait times reduce the need to purchase Genie... but also their attraction downtime is horrendous at the moment. So even if an attraction were to show an honest 20-minute wait, that could jump up to an hour or more with downtime.

Also, Boarding Groups provide a false level of demand, and with everyone now experiencing FOMO, it forces a family to purchase ILL if their first drop becomes unsuccessful.

I haven't been keeping up with this. Does ALL attractions have stand by lines now?

Does TRON and Guardians both have stand by lines?

They have a virtual queue, which is basically standby. And you can almost always get a boarding group in the afternoon drop if you miss the morning one. You aren’t forced to buy G+ or ILL to ride anything.

Good news. All this time I thought you needed to buy G+ to take advantage of virtual queue.
