Less Recognized Good Places to Eat/Drink Around The World

On these boards when someone asks where to eat we always talk about Le Cellier, Ohana's, California Grill etc... but what's your favorite less talked about/less known or recognized place to eat or drink (lounge/bar)?

To eat I still like Wolfgang Puck's (inside downstairs). I love la cava del tequila to hang out and drink with friends and we had a great time and great drinks one night at the bar inside the Boardwalk Inn (sorry I don't remember the name). It was one of those very quiet ends to a great day.

Sanaa is getting more attention, but I still don't think it is one of the more talked about places. Marrakesh is another one that I find to be good and overlooked.

I liked the Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan for breakfast as well as the Captains Grille in the Yacht Club. Quiet and good food. I have also always liked the GF Cafe for breakfast and dinner.

The best time that we've had is at Raglan Road! The food and entertainment were both GREAT! :sohappy:

I also like to grab a Margarita at the CS in Mexico :slurp:....They really do make the World a better place. Especially when it's crowded!

We ate at Raglan Road while we were there for Christmas and it was AMAZING! Food was great and the band was even better. Probably not a good place for kids because it is very loud and there tend to be some intoxicated people there. It is an Irish Pub after all lol. Casey's Corner in the Magic Kingdom on Main Street USA is awesome. They serve great hot dogs.

Sanaa (Table service)and La Cantina de San Angel (counter service). They both have great food and people don't seem to talk about them that much.

I went to Big River with my father about 3 weeks ago, and I have to agree it's one of the best burgers I've ever eaten, and the service was fantastic.

Agreed. They're not shooting for high-end cuisine, but rather a relaxed and informal menu with items they prepare pretty darn well. I had a burger as well, along with one of their "Summer" brews last June. My wife loved their beer cheese soup and their chicken cashew salad. And the kids split their meatloaf entree, which was more than enough for the both of them. The service was top-notch, and there was so sense of "hurry" that sometimes you feel at the more popular eateries. Plus, being right on the Boardwalk is always nice.....:)

We really like the Plaza Restaurant. Good sandwiches, great salad and really good dessert. Also in the grand scheme of things reasonably cheap meal for Disney.

I agree with Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club. I wish we had one more day this June because we would be eating dinner there! Also Trail's End is fantastic for breakfast and not mentioned here much.

We've always enjoyed Boatwright's at PORS. They're prime rib is excellent. We also enjoy Casey's Corner and The Plaza. The dogs at Casey's are the best I've ever had.

Great to hear about the good experiences at Captain's Grille. We have an ADR for our trip in Sept. It will be a first time for us so we're really looking forward to it!

When I think about this question the Turf Club (SSR) and the Fountain (Dolphin) come to mind for great places to eat.

As for places to get a drink, High Octane (DHS) and Joy of Tea (Epcot)
both have really good adult beverages.

I have agree that the Captain's Grille is a very nice, quiet breakfast. And for a buffet, the selections are well beyond the usual buffet fare. Very adult.

It's not unique to Disney but we almost always go to Planet Hollywood in DD. It's a lot of fun and the food is always good! Good atmosphere.

Well on that note allow me to add the Benihana's at the DTD Hilton! The food is always good and its not crowded like many other DTD restaurants.
