Legend of the Forbidden Mountain: Detailed Tour of the Expedition Everest Story

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.
Thank you for that Travis. I learned some stuffs today.

I guess one of these days I should actually go through the queue again. I always do the SRL so I have only seen the Yeti museum twice.

Ahead down the road lies the "Yeti Palace Hotel", still under construction, as rebar and bricks lie exposed as a second story is being built above.

Gupta's Gear and the Shangri-la Internet Cafe

Next to the building is a much larger one, the second floor housing an internet cafe for the endless stream of trekkers and mountain climbers traveling between the lower climates of Kathmandu to the higher climates of the mountains. Drinks and luggage strewn as the travelers have settled on the balcony. On the lower floor is a shop- Gupta's Gear, with backpacks and equipment hanging from the eaves. Doors shuttered- A sign indicating that Gupta is currently away to acquire more Equipment on the Mountains-As most high altitude equipment comes used second hand from prior climbing expeditions. A Bulletin Board stands near the storefront- Brimming with notes leaving messages between travelers-

"Doyle - Heading to Anadapur after failed Everest Expedition. Going Rafting on Kali River. B.B."

Notes suggest that travelers who claim seeing "The Yeti" should make sure it's not one of the local animals on a list provided. Walking between the shady stand of palm trees and the tall building of the Internet Cafe, the Mountains come closer and closer into view, as the tracks in the ground beneath us transition from Tire Tracks- To Bicycles- Until finally just foot and bootprints.

It wasn't happening this year, but last year when I was there, there were voices coming from the second floor of Gupta's gear, where the stuff is on the balcony up there.

It was two hikers talking with a local. One of them could speak the language (I don't know what specifically the language was) and was translating.

I remember it being something like:

maybe Gupta or someone else: "something something in foreign language"

Hiker 1: He says that yes, the yeti is real and lives on the forbidden mountain.

Hiker 2: Really? Ask him 'something, something, something"

Hiker 1: Speaks in foreign language

Gupta or someone else: answers

Hiker 1 : "He says . . . something something"

and it goes on something like that.

That is a vastly paraphrased version, but it was very cool, I stood there and listened to them for a while, and thought it was an amazing detail.

Would be nice to know the actual script of this detail. Don't know why I couldn't hear it this time.

The ride is good but it lacks all continuation, and please don't look around at the top when you stop! talk about ugly....

If by ugly you mean the best individual show scene built since Indy, then yes, that scene is very "Ugly"

That's very cool! I know there's audio up there, but I've never heard that part in particular, must've been one of those rare times a random effect that never worked started working for a little while.

I've looked behind hundreds of times, aside from the speakers, everything else still looks pretty great for something that's behind the scenes.

(And the machine on the back peak was to recreate the snow blowing off the peaks effect, If you look on the ridge you can see a line that mimics the contour of the mountain, that was the original effect, but it didn't have enough "Punch" to look good from the ground, plus once they cut the water to the tunnel misters that meant no more water going up to those nozzles.)

Plus they've put new mist machines on that ridge and to the left when they added that one too, which makes it look pretty awesome when they work.

Ok, Ok, So I was exagerating, I seem to remember it being not so pretty, but to be honest maybe the rest of the very good ride distracted me!!! The upside down sensation is amazing...

:fork::lol:

Methinks I shall go on Green first and see how that fairs.

And who the heck has time to look for speakers?:lookaroun

Cool... (Cookies if you go on the Orange :lookaroun)

There was no bird on a stick...:lookaroun:lol:
