We are leaving tonight for WDW for a conference I have there starting Tuesday. Driving from Texas. So far we have successfully kept it hidden from our kids (3 and 7). Will be the 3yo's first trip, and the 7yo's 3rd. We are packed, but planning on packing the swagger wagon after the oldest is in bed and after he's been asleep about an hour quietly load both in the car and leave. Think we can make Mobile or Biloxi by the time they wake up.

Not sure if we will tell them what we're doing when they wake up or keep them guessing. Either way should be fun.

Have fun, I hope your new Queen Wagon Family Truckster takes care of you on the trip! Don't stop and visit any cousins of your's or your wife's. Avoid stopping off to visit older family members and taking them to a different location (especially if they have a dog)!

Good luck!!!! Tell them your driving to a boring old conference and leave it at that, let the "welcome to disney world" archway tell them where they are going!!!! :sohappy:

Have a fabulous time!!! I wouldn't say anything to the children, let them notice the signs!!! We did this when my son was much younger, and he was FLOORED!!! It made for a great memory, for all of us! Be safe, eat well, have fun and enjoy EVERY moment!!!!! :sohappy:

Have you driven there before? Don't uderestimate the 7 year old. I drive all the time. I only live about 3.5 hours away. I didn't tell the kids anything. I picked them up after school and we left. After an hour, the 8 year old knew. He knows we don't drive that far from home unless we are going to Disney. Hopefully you can fool them longer. Have fun.

It takes us about 13 hours from our house. I think College Station is a few hours beyond us. My guess would be 15 hours if they drive fast as we do.

Very cool that you kept the trip a big secret. Our teens are way too nosy to keep a secret like that. I'm jealous! Have fun! Safe travels! We'll be on the same eastbound route from Beaumont in the wee hours Monday...

hey there are videos..

of kids who thought they were going "somewhere else".. kids have no idea, of cost ,or time or planning.. every thing is on the same plane except its a different place..

and when these kids, who were "going somewhere else " found out where they were going.. they didn't want to go.. check out youtube..

Right, because a random YouTube video is the norm. The kids will be fine, and will have a good time.....
