Le Chefs De France

Le Chefs De France and Restaurant Marrakesh are the only restaurants we haven't tried at Epcot. I always wanted to try Chefs, but heard so many bad reviews (although the onion soup and the creme fraiche is something I definately want to try)

We ate there in October, and the food was OK, service was good, but the tables are REAL close together, and it was VERY loud! We will probably not go back, and much prefer Bistro de Paris. Much better food, servers, and atmosphere.

I changed my Rainforest ADR at downtown because of the refurb there. My husband had me book Le Chefs. Has anyone tried this restaurant in Epcot?

I love Chefs. I have eaten there over 20 times and only had one server who should have taken the day off. He was not rude just very inattentive. All meals but one were the lunch fixed menu. Well priced it does not sound like much to eat but it is very filling. We always start chatting with the CM as soon as they come to the table. It seems to establish a relationship. If the French are rude they must choose to work elsewhere as we find them very friendly and we don't speak more than a dozen words of French.

Now Le Celler. We used to like it but now it is very overpriced bland food in very small potions. Thanks DDP.

Is Remy still appearing there for sure? I haven't been able to find anything that mentions him specifically one way or the other. My son is in LOVE with Remy and so if he's still there I will definitely have to book it for this trip, regardless of any potential rudeness. :)

He has been every trip at lunch time for the past 3-4 years. He was there in January. He has been coming around starting around 12:30ish. I can not speak for later meals. Call Chefs and ask if he will appear during your day and time.

He wasn't there for dinner when I was there in March. Perhaps it's a lunch only thing?

I've only been there once. We both thought our dinners were excellent. Remy was a surprise for me, so I really enjoyed that...and I didn't watch the movie.

The tables, like all WDW restaurants, are packed in. And like all WDW restaurants, it's kind of noisy. But our server was very efficient and very nice.

I thought I'd hate French food. Just not big on anything foreign. I was so happily surprised to have something I didn't just like, but LOVED!

I've eaten a lot of meals in the WS. I'm happy to add another restaurant to the list. And I'll take that meal over anything at Le Cellier any day!

Yes, my DH and I eat here almost every year. We really like it. Some people don't care for it but it is one of our faves. We love it for lunch and dinner. Lunch is quiche and salad and dessert! And then dinner is the french onion soup, steak and dessert! Love! :) I am thinking of trying something new this year - will have to check out the menu! :)

I eat here every single trip -- I lived in Paris for about 3 years and this is the closest to real French bistro food you will find...with that caveat, the more crowded they get the more harried their servers get. Remember, these are mostly REAL French kids, not american servers....and French culture does not dictate hustling to help you and only you, and it goes at their speed, not yours. That's the way the French service industry works. But I have NEVER had a rude server here. NEVER. In fact, if you speak French to them, they will come back and talk to you over and over again about their experiences working at WDW, positive and negative. The general complaint: they have to work too hard and it is too hot. Both legit.

The one major caveat....DO NOT order any American-type food here. If things on the menu are not to your liking, don't settle for American food -- it's not an American-food restaurant. If you don't understand how a dish is served, ask. They will describe them to you. When you see things on the menu like "a stew made of beef" it is NOT an American beef stew dish. Don't be surprised that you don't get what you would normally heat up from a can at home.

The table set up, while cramped, is done that way on purpose. Its supposed to resemble a Paris bistro -- where tables are right next to each other. They are actually spread out here since Americans don't like sitting next to other people. But is pretty authentic.

I've visited twice. The first time was excellent the second time was not. Dried out chicken and beef rib, it actually put me off going again but I will say this, it's a lovely ambiance and setting and everyone should go at least once for the experience.

I have been here maybe 10 times. Last time was about a month ago. I would classify it as an off night. Not bad, just not up to par. Kids were happy with what they got (duck, pasta, and chicken). I the Mrs. was happy with her Filet Mignon and said the onion soup was quite good. The briased short rib, which I have had before, were just off this evening. Good, but not to the level they normaly were. Desserts were quite good. Wine was not a bad price (considering it was WDW) and the service and atmosphere is, as was said above, French - as should be expected in a Frence brassire, created by French chefs, and staffed by people from France. In most of Europe, dinner is not something to be eaten - gobble, gobble, gobble, and then bang, zoom out the door. It is about lingering, taking your time, enjoying your companions, talking, eating, and socailzing.

I made a reservation for Les Chefs next January, but only to see Remy, because my daughter loves his movie and I want to surprise her. I have been stressing about whether he will actually be there, because if not I would rather go somewhere else in Epcot! So thank you for suggesting to call Les Chefs - I never thought of that.

Must edit to add... I didn't mean that I don't enjoy Les Chefs. It has good food, good service and reminds me very much of Paris as I lived there for a few months. However... I'm vegetarian, and there are other places I could get more exciting vegetarian food.
