Le Cellier going signature for dinner only

Oh no!! We have eaten at Le Cellier on every trip! But as much as I enjoy it I will not be interested in using 2 credits for the experience. Guess we better enjoy it in November!!!!

I am so glad that this is finally happening! With the advent of DDP, Le Cellier (along with all the other TS restaurants) saw a substantial decrease in quality and menu selection. This was once my favorite meal, but has dropped off my "must do" list in recent years. Hopefully they'll expland the menu back to what it once was. :sohappy:

Interesting. I wonder if this is a sort of test drive to see if people are willing to fork over 2 credits for the chance to eat there. I would imagine that if the 2 credit dinner is successful it would eventually include lunch. On most of my trips I don't use the DDP so this doesn't matter much to me. I do hope that getting a dinner ADR will be a bit easier now though.

I am all for easier reservations

If I am going to use 2 credits for steak, then you will find me over at the Yachtman Steakhouse.

DDP has gone from a money saving option to a plan that is not worth it. You really need to work hard to spend $41.99 per day or more(nearly impossible at a signature restaurant). Use the TIW and receive 20% off TS meals and CS meals at AK is the way to go. Go back 4 years ago when the DDP was $37.99 and included the App with dinner and gratuity. That was a bargain. Now it is a waste of money.

I just hope they spiff up the menu and remove some tables at Le Cellier to make it worth the value.

I totally agree with dmbcrush5 - I feel like there was a significant decrease in quality there with the Dining Plan (and the obvious menu decline). As someone who cooks, I am pretty sure I actually noticed specific ingredients coming out of long-established dishes there, and/or changes in portion size / meat quality & cut, etc., that I could only attribute to DDP. (The logic here being I saw no similar declines in any of the Signature dining spots that have been charging 2 credits). I did not even bother getting a reservation there for my next trip - that's how disappointed I have been with the changes. I'm a devoted TiW fan, so this is good news to me.

We use the DDP and are a bit disappointed, but I think what we will do is use our TS credit elsewhere and pay for LeCellier out of pocket, if we really want to go. As it currently stands, it is in no way worth 2 credits and you would be wasting money using them there vs. two other separate visits to any other TS restaurant.

I see a lot of new signature dinning on the horizon. I just hope with the status change the quality improves. Otherwise these new signatures will not be worth it, just like Brown Derby.

These siganture really eat up the DDP credits. Perhaps that is what Disney wants. Or maybe something new is coming, like signature DDP type credits. Then you have CS, TS and SS,

I guess I'm in the minority who feel that you need two signature steakhouses within walking distance of each other.

If Le Cellier is going to Signature status, then push the Yachtsman back down to one. Create an option. I always thought Le Cellier was a more than decent experience for the price point.

I might be overly critical, but I think that this is a bit, well, stupid.

Honestly, I do not see them changing a thing until the guest count drops.

We had lunch there on Sat. July 24th and there were several open tables during our entire dining experience. I posted earlier on here that I called about 45 days prior to our trip date and had three different time choices for our group of 5 ...including lunch and dinner options on different days. So we had absolutely no problems getting in and that was in the 45 day window. With my husband's work we will almost never know 180 days in advance when we get to go on vacation. We did not have the dining plan. Annual Passes so dining plan wasn't a great deal vs. our discount at Yacht club.

They will really have to amp up the quality and the service to make it worth two dining credits. It is good now but not two dining credits great.

It's about time.
As a non dining plan user, I've been waiting for this.

we just got back from there and didn't use the dining plan...they are really going to have to amp things up to make it worth the increase in $$$$. I am guessing that they will raise menu prices to make people on the DDP feel they are getting a deal using their credits here.

Per Deb Wills facebook "Le Cellier (Canada/Epcot) to require 2 Dining Credits for dinner only - beginning March 1, 2011."

I'll post a Disney conformation as soon as one becomes available. If someone finds official conformation before I do feel free to post it.

Awwwwwwwww, that stinks. Love the place, but without a show or something, I'm not sure any restaurant is worth 2 meals. This just makes the Dining Plan all the less desireable.

As you might have guessed I do quite a bit more dining reservations than the average guest and I can honestly tell you that your experience borders on unique. It is not uncommon for me to find zero availability at 175-185 days out.

I honestly don't know who was more surprised about my getting three different choices for Le Cellier 45 days out..me or the CM on the phone. When I asked about this location first for our group of five I could tell by her tone she thought I was asking to get into Cinderella's on that very day. Then she was like, well, we have three choices...one wasn't until 8 PM though.

Still, our service was just alright, but the table next to us...I just felt down right bad for them. If it had been our table my husband might have had us get up and leave.
