We knew she was coming (she has a wedding to go to Saturday), but not that she'd be here last night. That was a very nice surprise!:sohappy: :sohappy: yay!!!!

Hi all..Rachel..(theladybadger) says hello and she will visit soon..
Good Night all!
*kisses and hugs Connor*
Morning, Betty! Didn't get to talk to them, they were w/out power & their Dad's cell was dead. Got through to their Mom @ work (she was stuck there until about 9!). I guess she talked to their Dad before his phone died. Said they had about 2 inches of flooding in the basement so far...and they just bought new furniture down there. But other than that, they were ok.
Couldn't get through to any of my friends so I've got emails out to everyone making sure they're alright.
I have known all summer that Joel was going to be gone all day - WHY am I still tearing up here? I can't get upset, because then Abby will be worried and upset, so I have to be the calm cool adult. But that's not how I feel!
The first day is tougher on the moms.....
Ona related note, DD came home last night for the weekend!
It really does - I never get used to seeing the "regulars" that we see in Providencde. What an entirely different life!Completely OT: So, homeless people are just kind of a fixture of everyday life here. There are several "regulars" that are always in the same spots by my office so, unfortunately, I got used to seeing them pretty quick. (Though I still remember my 1st time coming to visit NY, seeing my 1st homeless man and breaking into sobs right there ). ANYWAY, this morning as I got off the subway there was a man there I'd never seen before and he had a box w/ 2 of the sweetest, fluffiest cats and was petting them so sweet. It completely broke my heart and the tears were there like that. I walked a block, couldn't shake it, so I turned around went back and gave him my coffee money. Still can't get that sight out of my mind....makes you realize how lucky you are.
Indeed!!!!! :sohappy: :sohappy:So, I was just thinking about our friends this morning - Freddy's in WDW, Amy's in Miami, and Bunny'swaking up to her first morning at home with Anastasia.
Life is soooo good! :sohappy:
