Hi...just checking in this morning. I just woke up, so I have to take a shower before I head off to work. I'll see you guys in a little bit. (Probably in a little over an hour or so)
Morning Freddy. Can't wait to finish reading your TR. I've been a bit busy, but I promise I'll get to it. (You've done a great job of making me wish it was next Friday though. )Added a few last minute things over at the TR.

Hi hunny!
Don't worry, take your time, its not going anywhere.
I'm so excited for you!
You better make a TR!!
Hello
My oldest DD (13) told me she was in love with a boy at school.
She asked me how she is supposed to know if he is the right guy or not.
She also asked what does love feel like.
My baby is growing up.:sohappy: :sohappy:
Oh, I know. I just want to get to it sooner rather than later.
And I will definitely be making a TR! (If I didn't, I think you all would attack me! What with all the excitement I've been sharing. )
Aw!!! That's so awesome...but also scary. I always knew what it was like to like a boy. I've "liked" boys all my life...since I was in second grade. Guess I've been a little boy crazy my whole life.
Yeah...it is a hard thing to talk about and explain. And I know what you mean about wanting her to feel comfortable talking to you all about things like this in the future...that is definitely important. Hopefully she still will fell comfortable. That was me also. I don't remember a time when I didn't like a boy. It was hard to explain things. I wanted to say all the right things DH kept joking about it. I didn't like that at all and told him not to do that agian so she will come to us always with things like this.

:lol:I have always told them they can come to us no matter what it is they need to say. That is hard to say also because you never ever want to hear bad news or that they did something wrong. Then you always get the wonderful stories of them doing something good or funny.:sohappy:
My youngest DD wrote a story yesterday (4th grade) She wrote about that she hated school because of homework and the school should have a pool instead so they would be famous. I smiled at that one. I know how it is to have so much homework that you can't have fun after school. I hated it also.:lookaroun
You never do want to hear the bad things. You want your kids to be perfect, even though you know they never will be.
I was always the type who liked school. It came easy to me. I didn't have any trouble testing b/c I had a great memory. But I did always hate it when they loaded us down with homework. I know that homework is essential, but my theory is...what are they doing in school where they need to come home with 3-4 hours of homework a night. They've been in school all day...and now they've got to come home and continue studying for multiple (excessive) hours. These are just kids...and while they need to be learning something, they also still should be having fun. Sometimes I think schools and teachers forget all that stuff, so they load the kids down.
no...you are exactly right. It is the administratation and their reliablity on those good test scores. And I don't think that's fair. But, that's the only "real" way I guess to decide to hand out money...but they still shouldn't be "slave driving" these kids to study. But they still shouldn't be pressing our kids to extremesI don't think it is just the teachers. The addminstration wants good scores so they can get more money from the gov. The principle before this one took away recess because she wanted the teachers to teach more on the TAKS tests that were coming up. My kids were tired by the time they got home. They didn't and sometimes refused to do the homework. That was tough and I couldn't blame them. That yr I didn't push too hard about homework. I told them to get it done but didn't go crazy to get everything done.
Hi Steph! How are you today? Back!

oh no.Sorry to start off on a sour note, but I lost my job today.
The IME (Independent Medical Examineer) decided that my injury was not due to work related and that this was pre-existing and I am responsible for getting it repaired.
Well, I guess there goes my trip this weekend and next.
