Krank's 4 Day Excursion!

Day 1

The tale begins on Wednesday October 15th around 5 am. My Mom and me woke to make final preparations and pack the car. Around 6 am we were on the open road heading to The World!

5 hours and 2 quick stops later we drove through this familiar structure:

We proceed directly to our resort:

Where we were informed that we had been upgraded to a savanna view room! The Sunset Savanna to be precise. However, our room was not ready as it was around 11:30 am.

We decided to head to the Outlets to visit the Disney discount store to see if we could find any deals. I got a nice Pirates hoodie for $15 and a Disney-MGM Studios TOT poster for 99 cents. Yes folks, 99 cents!

After shopping for a bit, we headed to DtD to see if we could have lunch at:

DSCN0910.jpg

After about a 30 minute wait we were enjoying our Bronto Burger and Waffle Fries. The restaurant is very similar to RFC but I enjoyed T-Rex a lot more. The food was good and dinosaurs are cooler than birds and gorillas!

After lunch we decided to go for a walk around what's left of:

DSCN0913.jpg

It is true folks, the AC is closed:

DSCN0916.jpg

After a long cry we headed back to AKL to move into our room. Once we had everything situated I took off for DHS leaving my Mom to enjoy the view from our balcony:

After I got my rides on TOT, ST and RNRC in (Mom doesn't care for them), I headed back to AKL to have a nice relaxing evening. We looked around the resort and enjoyed the scenery. It truly is a fabulous place to stay. If you have never been to the resort I recommend giving it a look. That pretty much concludes day one of the trip. Keep looking back for day 2, it will follow shortly!

Day 2, Part 1:

We made it to the bus stop around 8:15, but we waited around 25 minutes for a bus to actually show up! I was a little frustrated but we finally made it to:

DSCN0270.jpg

We really didn't have a whole lot to do here except TSMM. So we took off straight to:

DSCN0274.jpg

We were in line around the guys from Theme Park Review who are on The 2008 East Coast Trip. I actually got to meet Rob who runs the site. He is a very cool guy. I wish I would have got a picture with him, but I didn't think about it.

After about 20 minutes we were loaded on:

This was Mom's first time, my 10th on it. She thought the attraction was good, not worth over a 30 min wait though. After TSMM she decided to ride:

DSCN0948.jpg

This was only her second time on it. She said the goal for this time was to keep her eyes open, which was a success! We messed around in Animation for a bit than it was time to say bye to DHS for this trip:

Day 2, Part 2:

We were greeted by this at our next stop:

Once we got into the park we headed straight to Soarin' for FP. By this time we were getting hungry so we went to:

After lunch we rode:

Nothing was new in the descent...unfortunately. Triangles are still hanging out and the curtains are still closed. Mom enjoyed the video of the future, but agreed the ending is lacking.

Next up was M:S. This my Mom's first time on it, my first time on green. She loved it. M:S is now her favorite attraction at WDW. Go figure! Next we got FP for TT and headed to:

Where we can no longer:

WOL is just sad! I couldn't bring myself to take any pictures inside because they would only corrupt the memory of what once was. After another cry, we were getting tired so the obvious choice was:

After a quick pick me up with Ellen, we visited with:

The rest of the evening was spent in:

We enjoyed The Food and Wine Festival by starting in Mexico and making our way around the lagoon, but we had to stop to catch this show:

DSCN0401.jpg

Makes me cry like a baby every time.

We continued around to Canada grabbed a cup of Cheddar Cheese Soup and sat down on the steps to prepare for ROE. After ROE, we hit MouseGears for a little shopping and headed back to AKL. It was a long and tiring day, but definitely a good one!

Thanks for the comments! Day 3 might take me a little longer to get up, I have to work on my online class I neglected last week.

TTFN!

Great report! I love the Animal Kingdom Lodge, but haven't been lucky enough to get a savannah view. The animals look so close!!

Wow, where is this lemon!?!

The Picture was taken on Living with the Land.

I'm done with my class...so on with the show!

Day 3, Part 1:

Day 3 was Kingdom Day! We started off the morning by heading to:

DSCN1059.jpg

The first ride of the day was:

The ride is still great, but it is lacking without Mr. Yeti being animated. After a quick diversion down the secret path at DAK, we headed straight to KS. This was the best safari I have ever been on. All the animals were active. Some pictures:

Ok, enough of that. Next up was:

DSCN1048.jpg

The show was excellent, as usual. Nemo is, IMO, the best stage show currently offered on property. It was now lunch time which means Flame Tree!

The following are a few pictures from the area around where we ate:

After we finished lunch we headed back to AKL for a nap. MK and Day 4 will follow shortly!

Day 3, Part 2:

After a nap, we headed out to:

2004_1221disney10098.jpg

When we arrived we noticed something we hadn't witnessed the whole trip....crowds. We are talking summer crowds here people. Splash had an 80min. wait, BTMRR was at 50 min., and Space had a 60 min. wait. It was crazy!

A few pictures of Main Street:

We made our way to Adventureland to ride:

DSCN0756.jpg

After a 30, yes 30 minute wait, we had an enjoyable trip with Captain Jack...unfortunately Davey Jones wasn't able to join us. At this point we made a decision to visit Frontierland. This is when we discovered the wait at Splash and BTMRR. We were at a dilemma, spend our time waiting on the mountains or change our plan. The plan was changed to enjoy the lesser known attraction and the ones with high capacity. We hopped on the train and made our way to ToonTown Fair.

2004_0122Disney_20070053.jpg

Making our way to Tomorrowland we enjoyed TTA, COP and MiLF before picking out a spot for Spectromagic. After Spectro we made our way to Casey's to pick up a hot dog and found a nice spot for Wishes. Once Wishes finished we fought the crowds to make our way to one of Moms favorites:

DSCN0313.jpg

Next up was HM and SWSA. We finished the night by doing a little shopping and making our way back to AKL. One last shot of the castle:

Day 4:

The last day! Unfortunately, I had to be home by 2 pm which meant we didn't have time to do anything. After a stop at the Hess by The Boardwalk, we were on our way home. Now, the countdown to March begins!

Once again thanks for all the comments!
