In 2010, Blackpoole Pleasure Beach Will Break The World Record. They Will Open The World's Tallest And Scariest And Fastest Rollercoaster. (i Would Never Go On).
It Will Reach 500 Feet In Height And Will Pass Speeds Of 140mph. Kingda Ka Is Going Ot Be Second-best.

Correction: 152mph. wow, no way.

A) This has been rumoured for years, and was constantly put back
B) Why would BPB use Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 to model their new ride
C) Why would they announce a ride for 2010 now? Especially one they want to be a world record breaker
D) Would a 500ft tall metal structure out at sea actually work....? Think of the high winds at the top.
E) If it is anything like Stealth, TTD & Kinga Ka.... think of the down-time!
F) Why hasn't this been on the mainstream media? The Big One attracted loads of attention.

The fact that I got to point F makes this not add up (in my mind at least!) Is there a proper press release or just some dodgy video on Google that anybody could have made?

In the future, you might want to give people at least a couple of hours to respond to your posts. Sometimes people that are interested in the subject just aren't around to respond when you first post something. Repeatedly posting asking if anyone is going to respond can sometimes annoy people and make them not want to bother responding. Not trying to be mean, or anything, just trying to help you out.

So if this is bigger/better than KK, and KK is down 75% of the time(and that's being generous, its probably 85), that means this thing will never open.

It's not even on TPR yet, from what I could tell... I doubt it's true.

Besides, CP would be the first to undertake such a mechanical monstrosity/headache. :lookaroun

In my opinion, height is overrated. And, I think many coaster designers are starting to realize that bigger isn't necessarily better. Sure, it will be tall, but will it ever be open? Top Thrill Dragster and Kinga Ka barely function. And, solid hypercoasters like Millenium Force are consistently more popular.

It's funny how the best coasters are not always the tallest or fastest--just extremely well designed. "Hulk" comes to mind. But, also classics like the Coney Island "Cyclone," Kennywood "Racer," and of course "Space Mountain." The human mind can't register the difference between 400 feet and 385 feet. So, when it comes straight down to it, great coasters use their envirionments and track elements to provide an experience. They don't rely on statistics.

You're right about the down time...and if you're going to do a new coaster, why do it in exactly the same shape and format. Noticed that the simulated cars are shaped like drag racers, like the original at CP. CP took the cosmetics off as they had a preponderance to do it themselves...why would you reintroduce at a higher speed.

I agree with others,....and as I said with Kingda Ka....so what?

Actually, TTD has been running surprisingly well this year... and has had almost as much uptime as Millennium Force. (The almost-2 weeks of downtime doesn't help Millie much in that respect, either.)

In any case, most Point fans are hoping for not another Intamin rocket coaster for the 2007 season. What should that tell you about the "popularity" of a one-trick steel pony? ;)
