The family of Karl Malden, the Academy Award- and Emmy-winning actor, says he has died at the age of 97.

I always admired his role as the reverend in Pollyanna. Something about the way he played that character added a lot to the movie. Sad to hear he's gone, but 97 years is about all any of us should ask for.

I remember him most from The Streets of San Francisco with a young Michael Douglas. 97...bless his soul.

We have lost so many in the past 10 days and I fear more as they always come in threes. :lookaroun

When I saw him as Coach Herb Brooks in Miracle on Ice I always held a special place for him.(This movie was a different take on the 1980 Gold medal Olympic hockey team Kurt Russel's Miracle being the other)

He is the 2nd celeb to die who lived in Gary,Indiana(Michael Jackson the other) RIP Mladen Sekulovich(sp) which was his real name.
