I just checked out a video of the Winnie The Pooh at Tokyo disney. Wow, did WDW get the short end of the stick! The trackless concept looks fantastic. I'm totally blown away. I think the best part of the video is the dream scene where there is a ride vehicle full of animatronics that is also zooming around the floor with your vehicle. Check it out...

Click on me and then check ride videos for Tokyo Disney!

When I saw the video, my jaw dropped, but hey, that is what happens when you have yen to burn! I am sure we will seen some of that technology in the next ten years at WDW.

At least I hope!!:king:

Omg.. that ride is amazing.. I really wish we would have that version. My jaw was dropped for the entire ride... it just looks like so much fun! :D

Also, Indy and Journey are amazing rides, too. You should check those two videos out ;)

The AA dino thing in Journey is one of the coolest AAs I have ever seen.

But the speed part of Journey does not look as good as Test Track's.

I am keep on forgetting the name of that ride system but more rides need to use it. I don't care if it is expensive, it's the modern version of the omnimover.

THAT'S IT!!!! I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Oriental Land Company needs to take over. If that ride is just a hint of what's at the Tokyo park, we're getting cheated.

Thanks for the link. That's one incredible modern 'dark ride'. It would be nice to see such an expansion in WDW, as others have mentioned. What was the last traditional-style 'dark ride' added to WDW? Well, that would be the Winnie the Pooh ride, yes? ... But when was the last time we were really impressed by a dark ride's modern effects and immersiveness? Splash Mountain? Winnie the Pooh is a good idea that's poorly executed; perhaps it would have been better appreciated a decade ago, but I doubt it's more immersive than even Snow White's Scary Adventure or Peter Pan's Flight, which are rather old. The Tigger scene is clever, though.

Don't get me wrong, it could be much worse -- I just believe we ought to expect more from Disney.

Well WDW's might not be as good as Tokyo's (it is amazing!), it's still alot better than DLR's

DLR's is better than WDW's? That's disturbing. How does it differ?

Wow, how about some of that technologyon OTHER WDW rides!

i.e. Spaceship Earth, Haunted Mansion..etc.

That would've been AWESOME for Toad!!!

You are very right about Toad. With the trackless system, and multiple cars on the track... pretty awesome stuff!

Cheated? Mission: Space and Test Track aren’t exactly slumps when it comes to the technological department. Nor does Everest sound like it’ll be a pushover. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be the first to concede their Pooh looks pretty sweet (though I’m not a huge fan of the source material), but WDW has more than enough attractions to compensate for what is really just a cosmetic difference. Furthermore, odds are WDW will receive an attraction that will employ similar technology sometime in the future.

Ack ... actually, I read it properly, but (being somewhat dyslexic) worded my response incorrectly. :P

So, what are the differences between DLR Pooh and WDW Pooh?

Hey everyone, long time fan of the wdwmagic.com website and this is my first post. I saw this video and I was amazed, however I didn't notice if this ride was 100% trackless or used that Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin style track that is below the floor. Anyone know?

TDL Pooh is totally trackless. Each car has an onboard computer linked to the main ride system by radio, and there are also sensors all around to determine exactly where the cars are. They follow a pre determined path, it`s just that you can`t see it!! And they also (obviously) have onboard batteries that fast charge at appropiate moments (probably a variation on the GMR/UoE system)

Regarding the earlier question as to the name of the Test Track vehicles.... I can`t remember. Looking it up now... watch this space!!
