just a friendly reminder about Alien Encounter and Lilo and Stitch

I miss Alien Encounter...I remember "riding" it in 2001 and my best friend almost broke my pinky finger. She was so scared she was screaming and bending my finger backwards. I just remember laughing so hard. It was her first time on it and my 5th or so. Good Times! :p

I don't mean to put anyone down, but how does one get that scared on a make believe ride, with a make believe story, with a predictable make believe result? (I'm pretty sure that the alien never captured and killed one of the spectators.) Just about everyone just got out of there seats and left the building as soon as the lights came back on. I guess my mind just doesn't work that way or maybe it was that year in a war zone with people shooting "real" bullets toward me that put it all in perspective. o_O I thought it was a good show, but scary, not even close. My only thought was always "Wow...what a cool affect they used there":)

Well sure but if that's true than why go see a horror movie?

People get caught up in the story and the tension and the anticipation and not knowing what's going to happen. They can't help but be exhilarated.

Oh, I know it happens, I just am unable to understand how? Just a different mind set, I guess. My other thought based on your question is for the guts and gore. People love seeing guts and gore unless they have seen it in real life. But no guts and gore exist in Alien Encounter.

But that's the real power. What each individual imagines in the dark was a lot more powerful than any latex they could cook up.
