Jurassic Park Rollercoaster Coming To Universals Islands Of Adventure?

I find it a little peculiar that every vlogger, every popular Instagrammer, and countless posters are hyping this thing up as massive, a beast of a roller coaster, etc.

The truth: It's not bigger than Hulk, Rockit, Manta, Mako, or Kraken.

... or Montu, Kumba, or Cheetah Hunt.

It's an average-sized large scale coaster.
Have you been to IOA since the track was installed?

From looking at pictures, I was under impression that this was going to be a medium scale coaster with a large footprint. The Intamin Blitz, in general, is known for it's light and nimble acrobatics. After standing on the back patio of the 3 Broomsticks looking at the undulating helix, I realized I had seriously underestimated the scale this project. This is not some light and nimble Intamin Blitz like Cheetah Hunt or Maverick. This is a big beefy monster Intamin Blitz. Well at least the second half. The first half, the part in the spaghetti bowl, is the familiar Blitz twisting around rock work and zooming through head coppers (and 4 zoom-by yeti-like encounters with AA raptors). Then you hit the second launch and it's a different beast all together. There is a reason RollermanDan from Midway Mayhem, someone extremely familiar with roller coasters, calls this massive. And it's just not the coaster. When standing by the water near Me Ship Olive, under the top hat, looking at the queue/load/maintenance building, you realize that from water level it's at least 70 feet tall and themed.

Bro what? what experience?? the ride is not even open yet. They have no idea what the experience will be. What you talking about? You trippin'
Really? I'm sure I will find a few surprises the first time I ride it, but I'm pretty sure I have a pretty solid handle on what this attraction is about. I am looking forward to the preshow with Dr. Henry Wu in the lab.

I think it looks about the size and scope of Maverick at Cedar Point + a top hat.

So it is something that would for sure be a headliner at most coaster parks. I think it’s too early to rank this in the top coaster lists though. From a coaster standpoint only it does not look like an industry shaker to me. However, if it’s a well themed experience it could be.

If it has the same intensity as Maverick it would put there the top of my list. Theming means little if there is no thrill to go with it.

This will be more intense than Maverick. Just the undulating helix alone is pretty insane. You go into the helix upside down in a stall corkscrew. Then into a wave turn, then into this insane looking outer banked ejector airtime hill then into an over banked turn. You come out of the helix into a small bunny hop then into the fabled headline roll. I believe this is the first Intamin to have that weird over banked ejector airtime hill. I have to admit I am a little concerned about the intensity of that particular element.

The top hat is unique in that the climb up the top hat actually goes beyond vertical and includes an "anticipation stall" at the top. This coaster and the new Intamin in Belgium are competing to see which is the first to open with that element.

Whats there to be concerned about with how intense it is. Have you ever been on Steel Vengeance. That coaster has a lot of moments like throughout the ride.

I don't remember anything on Steel Vengeance like this.

This looks to have the potential to launch you head up and out while pulling your body down in the other direction. Particularly if you are sitting on the right side.

That looks awesome. I will say this definitely makes up for the loss of Dueling Dragons.

SV has at least two, the first one is the big one on the outside of the course on the initial turnaround (before dropping over the entrance the first time), but there is another one on your way back around the lift hill after the MCBR that looks like it will likely be close in intensity to this. It's certainly going to be one heck of a moment, as those outer banks on RMCs are crazy elements to experience and this looks a little sharper.

Yeah, those are sort of like regular outer bank turns. They are more like the outer bank on Pantheon.

They don't seem to have the ejector element like this one has. I have never seen anything like this one. I don't even think I would call it an outer bank. It is something else entirely.

And having looked at POVs of every Intamin Blitz coaster today. I will say that Intamin has never built a coaster like this one.

So, how accurate would you say is the fan-made POV?...

Alright, so I just met with my friend who has a friend in Universal Creative, and he accidentally leaked the real name of this ride:

"Jurassic World: Now YOU'RE the Dinosaur!"

My insider is a team member who staffs a Frankenstein glue-on bolt cart (but I won't say which one to protect their identity) who told me that they're going to do something similar to DAK's coaster which is themed to be a coaster in an amusement park. This coaster in IoA's Jurassic Park will be the coaster that the park in the movies, Jurassic World, built for its guests. It'll be called:

Jurassic Park's Jurassic World Coaster: Jurassic World's Park Coaster: Jurassic Whirl

Creative has a big push talking to management saying things such as "We want this to be what Hulk was for us in 1999"

Definitely much harder to do these days, but if nothing else, another coaster of that caliber of thrill in the park that fills in the missing gap from losing Dueling Dragon's intensity. A thrill and theme superior to tron imho. The biggest issue with this obviously in trade for its size and iconic elements of height will be the fact that it is another weather dependent attraction in the park.

I can't wait for this to open. It will blow away Tron and the Guardians coaster. Can we get back to discussing the coaster and the Dis fanboys stop making jabs with the stupid names for the coaster.
