Jungle Cruise to get holiday overlay

I just got back from WDW and got to ride Jingle Cruise. I wish they would have done a little more decorating throughout the ride but as it is I liked it quite a bit. The new script was fun and kept the ride fresh. If they could have thrown some garland or lights on a few of the animatronics or added just a little bit more in ride stuff it would have been even better.

Glad they did the overlay!

They should totally string lights on the submersing hippos!

Seriously, did you want to see a garland wrapped rifle in the gorilla camp?

Ride decorations would have ruined it. A few boat decorations and a few more on the docks was enough. I do not understand the desire for more or what purpose it would serve.

we talked to GR about it and they said it didn't generate enough of an attendance increase to justify spending the money on it. Sounds like Disney's excuse for pretty much everything these days.
WHAT??? The Christmas show practically DOUBLED attendance at CBJ (so much they had to bring in extra Cast Members to handle the crowd
Again, I would be thrilled to volunteer free labor to decorate the sets for CBJ Christmas. The reprogramming should take less than 2 hours of engineer time.

Let's get this done.

I would too! if they ever DO bring it back i hope they don't screw it up like they did the Original show. heck there isn't even enough dialogue or repeated lines in the Christmas Show to even think about editing it. what I would like to see is te reinstatement of Max Buff & Melvin's goodbye that was edited out beginning in '88 (most likly because the show debuted in Tokyo in '88 & that part wasn't in it:

That is what I always remembered too. Lots more full houses and multi show waits.

I'm glad they didn't decorate the jungle because the story is you're cruising through the many different regions. It wouldn't make sense as some of the regions don't celebrate "Christmas". Santa hats on the headhunter natives? The only place it would make sense is the Skipper's camp. (Aah, the lions are watching that sleeping zebra who had a little too much egg nog.)

I could see the headhunter natives wearing other people's santa hats not knowing what they are but just like wearing them XD
Cheif Nami wears a top hat and carries an umbrella for crying out loud.

Despite what many posters claim more definitely could have been done, the temple area before the indoor cave section comes to mind. The ride was a nice start, but definitely needs more the animals don't need to be wearing hats but other sections of the ride could have had some holiday infused in it or at least something extra. A make shift star on top of the tree where the boa is would have been funny maybe even some lights all warped around him. Say what you want but if haunted mansion can be made into NBC I see no issue with adding some holiday items into the jungle cruise.

What new script? There were a few holiday referneces thrown in, but other than that it was pretty much the same experience it's always been.

Cannot agree more. What more appropriate attraction for a Christmas overlay? The country and western and bluegrass music genres are perfect for it.

Just saw DLR's JC yesterday. Camp scene is prEtty doe up, but otherwise its subtle. Jokes were primarily "overlay" jokes with a few classic. It was cute, but not overwhelming.

Yet again, Disneyland listens and acts on feedback.... orlando carries on obliviously counting beans and doing the bare minimum
