On my last few visits some of the jungle skippers have gotten so bad you probably wouldn't understand what they are saying anyways. I hope it was just my bad luck but the past 4 times fell incredibly flat

Also, isn't there's section of Port Orleans resort called Alligator Bayou? If so, I wonder what they'll do about that, if anything.
And don't forget the alligator in Splash Mountain. And as mentioned, Peter Pan (technically a croc) and in the HM stretching room. Anything else? Any alligators at Animal Kingdom?
Not saying they should take any action here, but there are definitely reminders of the recent tragedy all over the place.
On top of that, literally millions of people do not know about it and will never know about it. As tragic as it is for those of us that are always watching what Disney does, that is not the norm. We tend to think that because we know about it, everyone does. There is so much bloodshed and violence going on in the world today, but, this locally traumatic incident will not even get exposure in most of the country. Out of respect for those that are presently visiting WDW, there should be at least the ending of that particular joke on Jungle Cruise. I will be willing to bet that it will be back before too long though. When you come right down to it, as soon as the fresh wound heals over, it's almost a public service announcement. And no one can say it isn't true anymore. Perhaps the warning of alligators present in the waters of WDW would be a wise choice also.I don't think that people riding peter pan or HM are going to say "whoa look at that snapping crocodile." Yes it was an unfortunate situation but as with most events, life goes on and people just simply don't think about it.
I'm not so sure about that. The story was reported on our local news, as well as other local news channels, and was a trending topic on Facebook. It seems knowledge of the incident is not localized to the Disney fan community. We tend to think that because we know about it, everyone does. I didn't mean that no one has heard about it, I am saying that it would not be on the radar of a lot of people that didn't have a more then casual interest in WDW. Especially if it is fresh on the heals of the shootings in the club.I'm not so sure about that. Mmm...not so sure I agree with that either. Personally, at work, we talked about the alligator incident, but not anything else that happened. Trending on Facebook also means that people are talking about it. Not that I would say Disney should remove all mention of alligators from the park, but I'd say it's on people's radars.I didn't mean that no one has heard about it, I am saying that it would not be on the radar of a lot of people that didn't have a more then casual interest in WDW. I think it is different as well, on PP and HM they are part of the story or atmosphere. It's different that on JC where the point is to laugh at the joke.I hope they don't change the painting in the HM or the Peter Pan scene. If anything, that will just make people keep thinking about the tragedy because they'll notice something is missing. Yes it's important to remember what happened so that it not happen again, but if Disney removes these things, then people will just talk about it even more and it'll backfire as they say how the company is trying to make us forget about it. Taking out the JC joke about alligators, though, I think is a good idea since the incident is so fresh in our minds.
OK, however, I am on Facebook and not only was it not trending on mine, it wasn't even mentioned. Of course, I don't subscribe to any Disney page on Facebook. I did hear about "Millie" from the old DickVanDyke show died of Cancer at age 87. Not a single word about alligators/Disney though. I have to agree on one point... people will not remember it after the initial shock has passed. Humans have a built in ability to conveniently forget unpleasant things. Sort of a defense mechanism.Mmm...not so sure I agree with that either. Personally, at work, we talked about the alligator incident, but not anything else that happened. Maybe after some time, it won't be as fresh in some people's memories. But I'd say for a while, people are going to be thinking about it, and people will remember it.

isn't there an alligator screen in the nightly water parade? if I am remembering correctly they should probably pull that float out the parade. Though I have a feeling that anything(except fireworks) that attracts guests to the beaches will be discontinued for awhile.
While I think it's a good idea for them in the short term not to acknowledge the elephant (or crocodile) in the room, I hope this censorship won't be stay for the long term as news of this horrific event fades since that will only create another elephant in the room for future generations.
In response to these recent events, Walt Disney World today cut all jokes related to children and crocodiles from the Jungle Cruise attraction at the Magic Kingdom. Among the jokes, the attraction famously asked parents to “watch their children, or the crocodiles will."
Essentially, they're cutting out any jokes involving crocodiles and children. You know stuff like "Watch your kids or else the crocodiles will"
When does this go?
I don't think that people riding peter pan or HM are going to say "whoa look at that snapping crocodile."
Ironic, since there has never been a fatality caused by a crocodile in the state of Florida, or the entire U.S. for that matter. So lets be over sensitive now and remove the crocs from Jungle Cruise...and Peter Pan...
