Journey of Water featuring Moana coming to Epcot

Let’s see what happens. The issue is, universal does not have enough rooms to make a significant dent in WDW’s business. I have not looked at how many non universal hotels are close to universal that could serve as rooms but I think there is still not enough.

I am guessing WDW resorts will gladly have folks pay to stay on site and go to universal because money is money.
When EU opens, Universal will have 11 hotels, which is fairly substantial. I would expect Universal to keep building more as well - they have more plots near EU without infringing on the area that may one day become a fourth park. Both campuses are surrounded by non-Uni hotels as well. Rooms aren’t really a problem for Uni.

What do you do at night at Universal? I don't see how we would keep ourselves busy for more than 3 nights.

Not knocking it, but just needs a little more to make it a "destination. "

I mean… what do you do at Disney? One has Springs, one has Citywalk. Both have movie theatres. Both have themed hotels to tour (and getting between six of them is much more pleasant at Uni due to the boats). If you’re there during HHN, the event runs until 2. Uni still has a luau at one of their hotels. Other then perhaps Cirque, I’m not sure what WDW offers at night that Uni doesn’t.

Just more parks are open later at WDW with more restaurants, Disney Springs has more and I don't know much about hotels at Universal.

Wasn't meant to be an argument. Just more thinking of how we'd keep busy for a longer trip.

more than 480 hotels and resorts and over 130,000 rooms to choose from, you'll always find the perfect place to stay in Orlando.

Theres always I-drive ;)

Looking at the 2021 attendance numbers, 2025 looks to be an eye-opening event for Disney. Only Magic Kingdom surpassed UO or IOA in numbers for 2021, Disneyland Park fell behind Hollywood Studios (well they didnt reopen until April 2021).
Disney has been saying that they’re trying to drive attendance numbers down (well, technically they’re saying that they’re going to maintain “reduced capacity”) so I’d expect them to emphasize revenue over attendance, especially when it comes to competition with Universal.

I’m not holding my breath, but I remain hopeful that there will be at least the tiniest sliver of edutainment in the Journey of Water walkthrough.

It's MOBBED at WDW now. Can you imagine how MOBBED it will be if/when the EPCOT work is finished.

Now with Park Pass Reservations, ALL 4 PARKS will be EVENLY MOBBED, there will be just fewer APers in the park!
this, Epcot was unbearable yesterday, we couldn't wait to get out of there, talk about out of control and disney could care less, its being operated at the lowest level of care as possible now. "Every Person Comes Out Tipsy", is the best I can come up with. Thats all they have turned the place into.

When the new park opens, its walking proximity to I-Drive will probably be beneficial to the guests. There will probably be transportation to Andretti, Top Golf, Dave and Busters, The Pointe, Icon Park, etc. I wouldn't be surprised to see other attractions eventually open along there as well, especially since Ripley's owns a good chunk of land (perhaps a Ripley's Aquarium?)
