This is deep into the attraction. I can’t imagine there being any sort of queue here. As you said, these are likely just separate explorable caverns that pass under the main waterfall. There are already several areas “off the main track”, as it were, including an alcove of rain falls behind the Heart of Te Fiti and the leaping fountain passage that runs parallel to the largest of the canopies.
Is there any definite map to the finished product? The only thing I have seen is multiple different editions of very vague concept art. It probably exists, but just wondering if anyone has it.

The site plan someone snapped a photo of has the area mostly blanked out, but we can see very clearly that there is only one entrance and one exit, both of which are literally as far away as possible from this cave. I also think I have a general idea of how all the concept art fits together in the final design that I can arrange for you later when I’m at an actual computer if you’re interested.

EDIT: Here's where I think things fit. If someone knows things for certain about this project, they can feel free to correct me. The walkthrough waterfall cave noted below is the area of focus in the photos from @bioreconstruct shared earlier.

The biggest problem with stuff like this -- and it's not Disney's fault, nor is it something they can really control -- is that it probably won't be the beautiful/peaceful experience you'd hope for because it will be overflowing with people.

Pandora has the same issue. It's a beautifully designed area, but when it's jammed with people it's hard to really enjoy it.

Pandora is a problem because everyone is standing in a multi-hour line for Flight of Passage. The Swiss Family treehouse is ultimately probably tighter and more crowded than this will be, yet I still find that enjoyable and spacious enough to stand aside and let others pass if I want to admire something for a bit. If they put a meet and greet back here, it could be awful, but if it truly is just a walkthrough, I don't think it'll be horrid after the initial push dies down.

I hope you're right.

As for a meet and greet -- I just don't see how it's feasible. If they put a meet and greet in, then it's just a queue for the meet and greet. There won't be room for anyone else.

That's an argument I make about edutainment inside buildings, as in Communicore - or doing something like that now.
The parks are so crowded that it's extremely difficult to even get near hands on displays now, let alone spend any time at them.
It's part of the reason I welcome this outdoor space.

This looks very nice, but I am surprised that this would be blocked off from the center of world celebration.
