Jon & Kate Plus 8

The thing is...if you read about them and look back...when he met her she was the exact same way that she is now...so everyone who says.."Poor Jon"..needs to stop saying that..he married Kate knowing how she was so he gets no sympathy from me because he knew what she was like..he knew exactly how she was.

I do think it is time for the show to end..especially with all the drama going on and the kids getting older and it is not fair to them.

They need to end it and work on things between them if they desire to.

Unfortunately, it was just agreed upon to do 40 more episodes after this season. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31032680/)

I still feel bad for him. She may have been like that when he first met her, but everyone in this world deserves respect. Kate just never gives it to him (I've only seen a couple full episodes, but from what Joel McHale shows me ;), it seems like she's always disrespecting him)

I actually enjoyed watching the show during the 1st 3 seasons.
As of last season, I could tell that it had started to go downhill.
I believe that they are both at fault too.
At first, I did get on that kick of saying "Poor Jon," but then I realized that he is just as much to blame.
He isn't spending the time w/ the kids that he says he is (he is out doing his own thing when Kate is out of town).
Did you see the latest episode where one of the kids (I forget which one) told him, "I miss you Daddy," & he said, "Yeah, Daddy has to work alot."
I think that they both just became money driven & Kate especially became star struck by the whole thing.
I also agree that they need to end the show.
It's almost depressing to watch it now.
I just hope that the kids will be happy & well cared for.
What do you think about the upcoming Octomom show? Personally, I don't think that I will be watching that one.

Then why does he agree to continue to do the show?

I know money is a big part but he knows she is a very controlling person and always has been..and he has said in many episodes..earlier ones also that she has always been this way and I know she loves me..and I ususally just let her talk..and they both laugh..

I do not know..they both confuse me.

I also think that for raising 8 kids she does a hell of a good job bossy, demanding, controlling or not..she does amazing.with the kids, errands, upkeep of the house and whatever else..I give her and him a lot of credit..

I like her..:D

I also do not think that he cheated on her..not at all,,he may have hung out with friends..I just do not thing he had a se xu al affair with anyone at all.

It doesn't seem likely you'll get the chance, at least not on television. I'm not sure what network in the states would pick that up.

How could he not do the show? His family now, it seems, IS really his whole life (he quit his job for Kate, right?) How can he not be a part of it unless Kate would agree to stop?

Again, I just don't buy into the "that's just who she is" stuff. If someone is disrespectful to one's spouse--someone they entered into a convenant with, promising to love and respect them--it's wrong no matter if it's in one's nature or not.

I don't know anything about that, except from the three episodes I've seen. Does she actually DO the upkeep of the house? Does the show not take care of that?

Ok, who in their right mind would watch a show about the Octomom? NOT ME!! She makes me sick.

Of course, if she makes a ton of money for that then maybe those children have a chance at a decent life....MAYBE! I just feel sorry the kids, who didn't ask to be born into that situation.

He can refuse to do it..and then there would be no show..they both have to agree or else no show..

I understand that..and agree..but that is what he says and has joked about on many occasions when he was asked that before and with Kate..have you seen the episode when they were on the couch talking and the asked why she "slaps" him so much and showed the slapping clips of her slapping him?

He said and she said those are her love taps..and they both laughed..they have both said "this is us..it is how we work"..

I do not know..

I think she does..I mean I know she interviewed housekeepers before but none were up to her standards..and she is always wanting to do it all her self because she is so ocd about everything.

Oh my goodness, that is terrible about the slapping thing, taking into consideration their marriage! It's terrible that she can do that to him, yet I guess I side with you on that one... if he just blows it off...it's partly his fault for accepting it. But then again, would you think the same about someone in an abusive relationship who keeps going back to the person who abuses them and makes excuses for them.

And about the show, sure, he could not agree to do the show while his wife still wants to, but then that would split them apart anyways, wouldn't it? Being on oposite ends of one of the largest family-affecting decisions they have to make....

I saw a report that he has to continue the show because he is under contract.
But, I believe they reported that the contract states that the family has to be together & they clearly are not.
So, who knows!?! :veryconfu

My wife is a huge fan of this show. I have seen most of the episodes, but I am far from a fan. I usually like telling people that the 9 most puke inducing words in the English language are, "On this episode of Jon and Kate Plus Eight." :ROFLOL:

But seriously. I could tell that this marriage was doomed early on. The whole incident at Toys 'R Us comes to mind. The way she treated him was disgusting. Then when they leave the store, she is all happy and trying to talk to her husband. When he ignores her, she asks, "Are you angry with me?" I knew right then and there that this woman needed help.

Then there is the whole gum episode. Oh my. She made that little boy so sad. "Say goodbye to your bear....he's going in the garbage." How could you say that to your crying and very saddened child? I honestly think this began the falling out between her and her brother and sister-in-law.

I want to feel sorry for this woman when she is crying about her marriage falling apart, but I believe she has made her bed and now has to sleep in it. You need to take the good with the bad with anything. Being a celebrity, you get all the perks: $50,000 - $75,000 per episode, a personal chef, free clothes from The Gap, new stainless steel appliances, a free tummy tuck and hair transplant, free trips to Hawaii, Utah and Disney World. But you want to be like a "regular" family and not have the tabloids or papparazzi hounding you? It's not going to happen folks.

I feel so sorry for the kids. Like Jon said, one day his children are going to Google him and what are they going to find? If Jon has any sense, he will never agree to another season after the current contract is up. I would want my children out of this situation very quickly. I am sure that Kate will be offered her own talk show or reality show and Jon will be offered a gig as well. Just keep these children out of the spotlight.
