If only the delay were to install a giant gong, get Jaye P. Morgan, David Letterman, and Phyllis Diller to judge, and get Chuck Barris to host the thing...
Ah yeah I know about the speculation of it, its just that it was stated a few posts back like it was a fact. I hadnt seen anywhere where that was known to be the case, so just wanted to check and see if I missed something, or if something that is speculation is being reported as fact. I dont want people to misread something and come away with the wrong conclusion. Speculation around the internet very soon turns into fact, which in many cases is wrong.
It was on here a few weeks ago...Sorry, Steve! That's all I know.Where have you got it being cancelled from?
There was a thread a week or so ago (the one about the jumbo tron) where people were discussing it. Now, I don't know if it was true or not, and I certainly hope it isn't.

Yep...At least the building WOULD have been nice.
I have not been keeping up on the details about American Idol and just recently read about Fantasmic! but please correct me if I am wrong.
AI will have multiple daily "auditions" during the day. The winner and possibly top 3 from each show will then move onto the Final Performance that evening. In which the winner will get to "skip the line" and go directly to the producers (not the judges) at one of the City Auditions the next season. Is that the jist?
Now my question, it seems like the Final Performance each night at DHS could cause quite a crowd. Has it been said if they will be using the Fantasmic! Theater for the Finals each night? Is that why they are reducing Fantasmic!???
Like I said, I have not heard the details and that may be common knowledge but was just curious.
Thanks!
I know this rumor is not official yet, but I have noticed a disturbing trend in the opening of new Disney attractions. It seems like all of the latest new/refurbed attractions (Spaceship Earth, Toy Story Mania, possibly American Idol) have all had their opening dates pushed back a significant amount of time.
I am all for Disney not opening an attraction until they are sure it is the best it can be, but tacking a little more extra time onto the end of a projected opening date as a safety blanket wouldn’t be a bad idea. At least nothing recently has been like Test Track where we waited for years...
Ah if you are referring to what was on here, it was just rumor - nothing solid. Sometimes when you post things you sound like you know for a fact and it could mislead people. It's always good to mention in your post if its just based on speculation.
Agreed!...DHS could use the money for a project SO much better than this.:dazzle:If only the rumor was that the entire attraction was being cancelled...

Maybe so, I might have read the post wrong. Doesn't matter to me, it isn't like I will actually see the inside.
As I understood it, Fantasmic was being cut to 2 shows a week to cut money from the budget due to the downturn in the economy. AIE opening around the same time gave them a convenient excuse to try to soften the blow. "Instead of this fantastic unique disney experience, here's some karaoke singers, who we hope can sing to entertain you tonite..."
Chris
I think they can tell I can't stand American Idol...
Is it because youre from Canada? Or because the show is horrible?
I think the hatred of Karaoke is a international affair.
