Trip Report JenniferS Is Live - 9/7/16 - 9/17/16

Hi, my name is JenniferS, and I am a Disneyholic. I have been accused of being a Pixie Dust snorter. I've been accused of worse, so no biggie.

Once we get home from a Disney trip, I am always in a bit of a funk, and never really up to doing a proper trip report. For those of you who know me, I generally post live over in Chit Chat somewhere. This is my first dedicated live trip report in the actual Trip Report Thread.

The cast:
Me. JenniferS. Just turned 49. Honestly friends, I don't know how that happened. I still feel 27. But, my passport and driver's licence insist I was born in 1967, and I have two 20-something sons, so it must be true.

This is me, on my way to work this morning. All smiles, because this is my last day of work for almost two weeks!

And this is Hubby. He is not on his way to work today, as he has been off work for 6 months. He is 48 years old and this is the first entire summer he has had off since he was 14. In 31 years together, this is only the second time I have seen him with a tan.

Goofy is his favourite character.

And last year, he was obsessed with this over-sized "Stitchie". There was no room in our luggage, but this year, I am determined to buy it for him, and bring it home by any means necessary. Actually, I'm just going to bring our big SouthWest duffel bag, and pay for an extra bag coming home.

This will be our first Disney trip, just the two of us, since 1992! :jawdrop:

Okay, that's the Who.
Coming up next - the Where.

You finally found the crowds. Sorry for that. Your luck has run out. Could you please ask them not to be there next week for me? thank you. :p:rolleyes:
It's not luck, it's intentional poor planning. Nobody goes to MK on a Saturday because EVERYBODY goes to MK on Saturday.

That's part of the reason we had a resort DAY and a PARK night.

And here we sit on the floor along with a hundred other die-hards who figure another 10 minutes (on top of the previous 20) of down-time inside the Philharmagic lobby is better than wandering around outside in the heat.

I knew it was too good to be true when it looked like we were in for the very next show.

Even worse, I have no idea how/if I'll be able to get up. Ditto for Hubby.

On the plus side, I just had the most beautiful, curly haired toddler stroking my arm for 15-20 seconds. I'm not normally a touchy person, but I make exceptions for Hubby, my kids, my dad, and apparently random toddlers.

The good thing about waiting for Philharmagic was that anybody who had ever seen the show 20 times cleared out; leaving us and a bunch of newbies.

Newbies appreciate the show. They ooh and ahh at all the right places, and they applaud at the end.

I share their enthusiasm for this show, because it is really well done. I'm almost glad we had to wait.

My only issue, as always, is that I don't care for the animation in The Lion King scene. Great song, but the graphics don't match the tone of the rest of the movie. (Says somebody who knows nothing 'bout nothing.)

Has anyone stayed at both POR and CS? We always stay at POR, and the only moderate resort we'd really want to switch to would be CS. We always used to stay at CB, but like POR more. We don't really know that much about CS, so we have never pulled the trigger to switch.

I've stayed at CS, CBR, and POR and I like Coronado the best. I liked the food court, pool and I even thought the bus transport was the best, although CBR is a close second. POR was nice enough, but I don't think I was feelin' its theme.

We last went June of last year, staying at POR for the umpteenth time, and I think we were kind of growing tired of it. So maybe when we start planning again for next year, I'll suggest CS. Thanks!

So after Hubby wrinkled his nose (and not in a Samantha Stephens kind of way) at Splash Mountain FP's, I swapped them for Pirates again.

The Stand-by was at 45, so just walking on felt kind of nice. We are currently on the PeopleMover before heading over to Space Mountain for our 7:55 pm FP's.

I see an Anchors Aweigh in my near future, and then we'll play it by ear. Hubby is just about done with these crowds. We may pack it in. We may stay a bit. Hoping to grab a FP for Pooh or the Haunted Mansion while we're in the area.

Stay tuned.

I asked for apple slices INSTEAD of chips.
As you can see, I got both.

Hubby got the lobster roll. I hope he gives me a wee bite.

Unsweetened iced tea for me. A very tasty, but very tart lemonade slushie for him.

Not peach cobbler this time. Blueberry maybe?
Time will tell.

Thought so, but wasn't sure. We've never eaten there. How is the lobster roll?
Hubby gave it an 8 1/2 because of the bun.
And I quote, "it's a top sliced hot dog bun. Put it on a kaiser or a crusty roll and it's a 10".

I had a bite. Heck, I could have had half, but I could tell he was enjoying it. I did, however, give him half of my sandwich and all of my chips.

I ate all of the apples. Didn't even think to offer him some. :joyfull:

Wishes fireworks are pounding in the background.
Taking our time here, hoping the crowds thin out.

Otherwise, it's Winnie the Pooh via FP, Haunted Mansion via Stand-by, then buh-bye.

And yes, the cobbler was blueberry. I ate half.
Of all the QS desserts, this is certainly one of the best.
