Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

To be continued ....

Time to wrap up this (not so live anymore) trip report.

As usual, we had a great time. My hip altered our touring strategy a bit, but 11 days allows for a lot of flexibility. Generally, we stuck to the spirit of the schedule.

New stuff this trip - MNSSHP, and the DestiNations Discovered Tour. We enjoyed both of these very much, but for sure thought the Hallowe’en party was a better value. We will definitely do this again next year. (As an aside, between the kids, Mike, SIL, Auntie, and my brother, the Hallowe’en candy is almost gone! 😲 This is a good thing, as I gained 5 lbs during our trip. Mike gained 3.)

I’m definitely up for a new tour again next year. Mike really does not want to do the Wild Africa Trek (fear of heights), but the Backstage Magic Tour is way too expensive.

Can’t believe we didn’t do:
- MK railroad - we always take the train around the park!
- Big Thunder Mountain - not sure what happened here.
- Country Bear Jamboree
- Tiki Birds - we even had the Dole Whip in hand, but Mike really didn’t want to go in.
- Great Moments in American History

- Impressions de France - we usually pop in here to cool down and relax.

- One Man’s Dream - I don’t think we have ever missed this attraction/film. My bad.

- Expedition Everest - we skipped one FP because Mike’s head was woozy from doing FoP first thing in the morning, and our second FP was cancelled due to weather.

Best meal - Narcoossee’s/Yachtsman still tied for first. Frontera Cocina was excellent as always. ‘Ohana will continue to be our first day dinner.

It was fun doing the ‘Ohana Best Friends breakfast for our last breakfast, but I think we’ll go back to Kona next year. It just felt weird not having my macadamia nut pancakes.

Next year, we are definitely going to try Teppan Edo for the first time, and we need to work the Wave back into the rotation.

I just had my first coffee in almost 72 hours, I get to shower tomorrow, and I might eat something other than a few animal crackers at some point today. (Not that I’m trying, but I may actually drop the 5 lbs that I gained.) Mike started working for me today, so I’m on my own until SIL gets home.

I am laying on the couch doing nothing, as prescribed, but against @NYwdwfan’s advice, I might have made the bed again. 🤫

Thank you all for following along. Let’s do it again next year.

He knows. I already got scolded.

There’s no way I can lay on the couch for 8 hours with an un-made bed just a few metres away.

How can there still be a Dove bar left?

Thankfully, it will be all gone by tonight.
How can there be so many Twix left? Those are always the first to go in our office candy bowl.

Glad to hear your surgery went well and you're on the mend!

And oh yeah, @Mr Ferret 88 , we are definitely going back to Coronado.

I really think it’s going to be gorgeous next year. Pepper Market/El Mercado was 90% done by the time we left. I think it’s vastly improved.

I’m not sure what they’re doing with the gift shop, but that would never be a make or break for us anyway.

Mike really wants to dine at that new tower rooftop restaurant, and we’d like to try out the waterfront bar.

Even with all of the current construction going on, it was barely a disruption at all. I think overall it’s going to be a win win.

The price we booked for next year was only marginally higher than what we paid this year.

Two 👍👍
