Trip Report JenniferS is live - 9/3 - 9/16

Technically this is a pre-trip report, but we’ll be going live in less than a week!

This will be my third live September trip report.

It’s going to be a lot of same old/same old, as the cast, location, and ADR’s are pretty much the same. What can I say - we like what we like. And what we like is each other, Walt Disney World, Coronado Springs, and Free Disney Dining.

First, the who.
Me, JenniferS - Uber planning, pixie dust snorting Disney-aholic, 51 year old kid at heart (despite what the mirror says).

This is Hubby. He likes the Tar Heels, the Blue Jays, food, beer, and me. Not necessarily in that order.
The words most often heard coming out of his mouth are “Whatever you want, Baby.”

This is us. We are adorable together. We’re each other’s ride or die.

Last year, we were celebrating my 50th birthday (as much as women celebrate these “milestones”).

This year, we are celebrating Mike’s 50th (both of us born in August, so it’s close enough to count) AND our 25th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

We have children, but we don’t bring them to Disney very often anymore. If they decide to get married and start giving us grand-babies, I will re-visit this decision. But for now, they stay home. We are on Jen and Mike time.

After two live trip reports, I’m not sure how wordy this report will be, but it will be heavy on pics, most especially of food! As Mike says - I’m only here for the food.

To be continued ....

Sorry, I still think it looks like a giant shiny tin can.

This is the view as you enter through the main gates. I’ve not heard any rumours about them shifting the entrance to the left 100m or so, but if that question pops up on any surveys, please vote yes.

Mike doesn’t know what kind of restaurant is being built on the top floor there, but he wants 8:00 ADR’s the day they open up!

Somehow I stopped getting notifications since Saturday evening but that just meant I could binge with my morning coffee this morning 😉. Glad you made it home safely, good luck for tomorrow. Guess I’ll “see” you next year 😂

I’ll do a wrap up of highs and lows tomorrow, and a list of attractions that we somehow missed.

We were there for 10/11 days, how could we possibly miss ANYTHING?

Happy Monday everyone.

Jennifer, I'm way behind on your TR, but I'll catch up this week. Up to the point that I read (maybe the first few days), it sounded like you and Mike were having a blast. I hope you're back home safe and sound.

I’ve just spent the past half hour with a deep conditioning pack and a plastic shower cap on my hair. Florida is so rough on my hair ... as you might have noticed in pics.

It’s a combination of the drying sun, humidity, sweat, and sunscreen overspray. But mostly I think, it’s the bubbles. Everywhere you walk, there are a dozen bubble wands spewing their detergent. There is no avoiding them, try as you might. (It’s good fun when the bubbles pop in your eyes too.)

I’ve never seen so many bubbles. Especially in TSL where they were selling the Bubble wands.

That just means you don't have to shower.

Trust me, a lot of people at Disney think they don’t need to shower. And a lot of them are wrong.
I always bring my shampoo with me to the parks to add some extra sleep time since I get up early for rope drop.

At MK I shower on Splash Mountain or the Splash N' Soak place.

At Epcot I go to those little fountains.

At DHS I used to stick my head out of the tram on Backlot Tours, but now I just avoid shampoo altogether and use the bubbles from MuppetVision.

At AK I go to Kali or that one weird fountain that makes the water into like a bowl shape.

Aha! New upcharge event: private mid-day shower! Actually, they should open a spa in Norway so you can recharge. Or maybe an onsen in Japan?

Your post got me thinking about the showers available in some international business lounges at the airport. I got to use them a few times and they were very refreshing.

Edited to add: Having showers available at the parks would be great if you're going to hit the park before flying out, like in Hawaii where some hotels will have showers available for you to use after you check out so you can go to the beach one last time before flying out in the evening.

Makes perfect sense, have to maximize the park time! 👨🏻‍💻
