Meh.
I guess it will be fun, but we're not really NYE party people.
I like going to a friend's house or to the party our complex throws, but this is more a business thing. Still...the food should be good! :D

So you're throwing your own bash?
I am!

See a friend of mine had the parties for the last few years, but unfortunately, last year, their garage caught on fire during the party...so that was the end of that.

(Note, it wasn't my friends who caught it on fire, some of his sister's friends I think did it.)

So, I'm having a nice shindig...appetizers, desserts, hopefully my brother brings over the Wii and then my best friend is setting up my ping pong table for beer pong. She's very excited about it.

Having around 20 or so people invited...but we'll see how many shows up...

But yours sounds very nice too...elegant...esp. compared to mine. :ROFLOL: It should be a good time for you all anyway.

Ok, I have a scenerio I want to run past everyone, and I would love it if you could all give an opinion:

I have a feeling I passed my history class I had last semester. If I did, that leaves me with 19 credits left. I currently am taking all 19 credits in the Spring. But my dad thinks it might be easier to take a summer class or two. However, that would mean not getting down to FL til Aug. And I would not be there for my birthday, SWW, F&G, ect. I don't know what to do. I would love to be done in May, and get down there for those things. I feel so confused. What do you all think I should do?

(Also- if I did end up not passing the class, this wouldn't matter. I would have to take summer classes)
Well, could you try out having 19 credit hours and then re-evaluate it once the semester starts...see if you can handle the work load?

I think I'm with your dad.
If you spread it out, you're likely to be less stressed and more likely to do well. Also, the summer months are sooo hot in Florida. Maybe a nice, not so hectic, summer at home...probably your last...would be a better idea.
Just my opinion. What I've seen of your dad, I have no doubt he's got your best interests in mind. I'd listen to him.

Yours sounds much more fun.
We had a few NYE parties at our house...I always love them.
It's nice to have a few friends (or 20) (or more!) together for that night.

Most likely. Summer classes don't sign up til April.

Yeah, he does. I just hate missing stuff down there. But I still have time to think about it.

Anyone have a good, easy recipe I can make for tomorrow's party for dessert? I'm trying to get some ideas.

My sister has this recipe for a chocolate pudding parfet with cookie crumbs.:slurp::slurp:

I don't know how easy/complicated it is to make it though. I can ask her.

hmm...that sounds like something my friend is bringing...hers is called Death By Chocolate...I'm not sure what it entails...but it has pudding in it.

And Jo...remember, school comes first...so, if you need to stay an extra semester, it's ok to have to do so. You'll be in Florida the rest of your life. :)

But just think - you're hoping to move permanently to Fl, Jo. This is just one summer. There's no point in stressing yourself out if you don't have to. JMO, sweetie.

We are doing absolutely nothing for New Year's - which is fine with me. Watch a movie or two, and break out the sparkling grape juice.

Ooo, that sounds good!!!:slurp::slurp::slurp:

Oh don't worry, I will be finishing. But I wouldn't need an extra semester. I only have 19 credits left (at the most, 22). So I wouldn't need a whole semester. I can take the classes over the summer. My dad thought I should do 13 credits in the spring, then take the remaining 2-3 classes over the summer.

If it were me, I would try all 19 in the spring. But then you have to factor in the recovery time it will take if you have a super demanding and stressful semester. I would try it and see what it will be like, you can always drop a class and pick it up in the summer if you think you will be too overwhelmed.

Heath Bar Cake (A Samie Favorite!)
1 Box of Devil's Food cake mix [and ingredients to make cake]
1 Jar of Caramel
1 Big tub of Cool Whip
3-4 Heath bars smashed into pieces

Make the Devil's Food Cake Mix according to recipe
While the cake is still hot serate (poke holes in the cake) with a fork
Pour entire bottle of caramel over the cake letting it ooze into the cake
Let cake cool

Once the cake is cooled completely cover top with cool whip
Sprinkle Heath Bar pieces over cool whip icing and enjoy!

That sounds good...if I don't make that this time...I probably will at some point.

That's an idea too.

Is anyone else thinking about Friends where Rachel made the triffle? :ROFLOL:

I've never seen Friends.:lookaroun

You just have to go with your gut and do what you think will work best for you. I agree with Jenny, you will be in FL long term soon anyway. What's a few months.

 Never? It's funny. You can catch it on TBS... oh about any time of day.
