Tuvalu Prime/Mom: "Do they sell coffee on Main Street?"
Me: "Um, yeah....there's a Starbucks."
(Do not laugh at your mama.)
TP/Mom: "I think I'd like some coffee."
Me: "Would you like me to take your mug to the food court and get you some?"
TP/Mom: "No. I'll get it on Main Street."
With that, the decision of "what shall we do tonight?" was made. We were going to the Magic Kingdom!
We arrived here around 6:15 pm.
TP/Mom drinks 2-3 cups of black coffee with a splash of milk each day. She has done so every day of my life. She does not care for flavored coffees and could not understand the whole Starbucks phenomenon when it arrived in our area....
"Who would pay that much for a cup of coffee?!!"
So I nearly fell down when she walked up to the register and said, "I'll have a s'mores frappuccino."
A WHAT???!!!!
Me: "I thought you wanted a cup of coffee?"
TP/Mom: "I said I wanted
coffee. This will serve as my dinner too."
Um, okay.
TP/Mom: "Aren't you going to order something?"
Said to her daughter who doesn't drink coffee nor coffee flavored beverages, and who only goes into Starbucks when she's with other people....
Me (quickly scanning the menu): "I'll have a strawberry smoothie."
TP/Mom: "I'm paying."
At this moment I fully expected her to pull out a Starbucks gift card ~ after all, I just witnessed a side of my mother I didn't know existed!
Ladies and Gentlemen, Tuvalu proudly presents:
Our dinner
I believe my straw was twice as tall as my cup....would it be too difficult to offer shorter straws for the smaller drink cups?
Since there were no tables to sit at, TP/Mom suggested a bench.
(Do not laugh at your mama.)
We ended up sitting on one of the low walls near the hub garden. We people watched as we drank and I secured a 4th FP for us.
