WOW- where to begin?

Hearing "Welcome Home" from the DVC resort cast members
Waking up to my hubby making Mickey shaped pancakes in the villa
Getting my glass of Rosa Regale in Italy
Getting my favorite bartender at The Gurgling Suitcase
Hearing the EPCOT entrance music (love the Soarin' theme)
Smelling the Bakery on Main Street
Knowing that Nancy will be there to wait on us at La Calva de tequila
Taking my picture of the castle everytime.......yes we have over 500 pics of the castle, but i just have to take one every time......
Hearng the "Welcome Aboard" recording as one of the resort busses takes off....

I could go on and on and on.....there are so many reasons we love going home!

So many..............

- driving under the Magic Kingdom sign is amazing. You know it's been there since 1971 and there have been millions upon millions of people who have driven under it.
- taking the tram to the monorail/ferry
- getting closer to the entrance ever so slowly
- walking down Main Street
- Walt's legacy is shoved (in a good way) into your brain forcing you to feel the magic
- walking under the Castle and see your fairytale options. Snow White to the right. Peter Pan to the left. Small World back left. Dumbo straight ahead. The Carousel straight ahead.

For me it is the total amount of time that went into the theming. If you are ever in fw at night, they still have music being played at the meadow trading post along with at settlement. That is just an attention to detail to keep the feel of the theme alive.

Walking through the gate and entering Main Street and seeing the Castle at the end of it. Man! There's no feeling like it. I always want to cheer and then race down the street to the statue of Walt and Mickey, but I never have the nerve...
There is something "magical" about the first trip through the gate at MK! I remember my first trip as a father to M & M in 1995. Walking down Mainstreet and watching my daughters absorb it all. There is a smell that hits you at Mainstreet one can never forget. My youngest was too short to ride anything with a height requirement so my wife I would take turns with each child(while not enjoying one of the many attractions we did together). The last thing we did the last night we were there was my wife and eldest daughter rode Splash Mountain while me and my youngest rode Pirates of the Caribbean (well before the movie aired). Still to this day we begin and end our trip in this manner!

I love mornings at the MK. I have to watch the park opening at the train station on the first morning of every trip. Usually I wear my sunglasses because I cry every time. It means I'm home.

Also, I love hearing "Hapa Duniani" while on KS in AK. I usually close my eyes, feel the breeze and enjoy another one of those sounds that means I'm home.

Ok don't laugh.... I love to sit on the little red chairs and listen to the dance studio. That little side street is my favorite place to be at MK. It is so quiet and rarely do I encounter more then 1 or 2 people (usually balloon venders) down on that end. I don't even know the name of the street.

Is that Center Street? Or was that the name of the street on the other side that closed for the expansion of the emporium? Anyway, I too love sitting there listening to the music/dance lessons and waiting for the parks to empty out. Funny you mention the balloon vendors...I love watching them. They must catch me staring at them, but for some reason they mesmerize me. I told my husband it's my destiny to one day sell balloons on Main Street.

Love this!

All of it. When we get on property it is like we have entered a dome that prevents lifes pressures from getting through. As well all of the senses are hightened. Happy sounds and sights...for us it is a total escape.

The Tower of Terror moving billboard along the highway. I remember it seeing it from the very first trip i took with my family. I was terrified of the ride (being only 8 years old) but i rode it anyways. That sign has always been a huge deal to me.

- Sitting in the chairs watching Mickey Mouse cartoons in WL lobby.
- Walking to the dock to catch the boat to Chef Mickeys when you are so early that you are the only one on the boat
- Having the same waitresses every year at Chef Mickey's and Kona Cafe
- That hour after the kids go to sleep before we pass out when we are trying to watch TV quietly but can't really hear it but don't want to turn it up and wake up the kids!
- Eating at Piggy's house (Crystal Palace)
- The rush at park opening when I wipe off my tears and run to the rides!
- Looking forward to great food at every meal and being so full that I can't move!
- Saving up our snack credits then buying all the candy we want at the WL gift shop before we leave!
And I could go on and on and on...in fact I'm tearing up right now.

I think that has to be the only reason you get 2 snacks per day per person with the deluxe plan, to bring home goodies.

The boat ride in the morning from FW to MK is always great, too bad that not all of the resorts and parks are linked with large enough ditches/creeks.

Too many to list! The problem is we think in pictures and I have a hard time putting them into words.

Agreed 100%. But if you have kids and they love WDW as much as you do, there is nothing like walking under the train station on the first day of the trip staring down Main St to the Castle with them by my side. I get teared up a little just typing it. Also the general feeling of being in "another world" and not just "on vacation". There is nothing like it.
I DID TOO!!! (and I was at work) The kids' reactions are the best. Especially when they're so young they don't question whether the characters are real, they just are. My daughter is 16 and it's still something that's just accepted; never questioned. EVERYTHING is Magic there... right down to the Pixie Dust that makes the Krispy Treats so yummy!!!

Magic

I get giddy putting the magic express tags on the bag.
I get teary when I see the purple pants
I get relieved when I sit on the bus
I get breathless when I see the mickey ear power towers
I get anxious when we get on property
I get totally relaxed when I walk into POFQ
I get lost in my own world when I get to Walt Disney world!!

Everyone has listed it all, what a place..... I love to listen to all the music from all the parks while I'm at home, just warms my heart and helps me to have a little piece of the world until I return again, it's truly just magical.

So many things, but when staying on property (we've only done mods) the feeling that you are always at the parks even when just walking back to your room! And as others said, the smile of my kids from ear to ear! Can't wait til my son sees Mickey for the first time this August (tearing up now)!

Isn't it amazing how excited you get coming down World drive yet that feeling of total calm comes over you because you are entering Disney world

There is a feeling I will never forget. I went with my wife to Florida for the first time in 7 years for me in September 2009. It has her first time going and she was 25. We stayed off site just 1 mile away from Disney and as I was driving from the airport I accidentally took the main exit to get to WDW property. I knew it right away and figured I'd have to turn around somewhere. Well, of course the first thing we went under was the Walt Disney World sign and my wife got really excited! Then we passed Hollywood Studios before finally having to literally turn around in the parking lot at Epcot. When she saw Spaceship Earth she just got all giddy. I told her we had to turn around and she jokingly said it was such a torture to get so close.

We went to MK two days later for real this time, but I'll never forget that wrong turn because I got a sweeping feeling of peace over me and my wife was a little kid in a candy store.........and all we did was drive accidentally into the parking lot.
