I love driving under the Walt Disney World entrance sign. It means I am at home.
Walking through the gate and entering Main Street and seeing the Castle at the end of it. Man! There's no feeling like it. I always want to cheer and then race down the street to the statue of Walt and Mickey, but I never have the nerve...
I think it's the "depression" that sits in when you leave. For example I leave Cedar Point at the end of the day I tell myself I had a great day and will surely take some memories with me. When I leave Sea World I am happy. When I leave Universal I know I had a great day and obviously would still love to come back.
But when I leave a Disney park a bittersweet feeling of happiness and depression sweeps over me. It happens to an extent with Epcot, DHS and Animal Kingdom but the place that really hits home to me is Magic Kingdom. I get a sad feeling walking out of the gates and onto the Ferry. As we drive across the lake I always look back the whole time wondering when I will ever come back and the unknown is a scary thing. Funny huh? It's almost I am leaving a dear friend and don't know when we'll see each other again. There's something about taking that boat away from that fantasy world that transports you back into the real world.
