It's Christmas Time in Disney - A November Trip Report

Well it’s been a month since I returned from my trip and it’s about time I started writing my trip report! I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! We have certainly had a busy holiday season. The craziness started with our annual 3-day celebration of Thanksgiving before we left for 5 nights at Walt Disney World. Upon returning home from our trip, it was Christmas party after Christmas party up until the actual day. Whew. I’m exhausted just remembering all of the events. :D So now that I am finally getting some free time again, let’s get going.

The Details

Who: Me (Ashley) and my husband (Wes)
IMG_3847.jpg

My Mom and Dad - My parents last trip was in 2009.
IMG_4081.jpg

My Aunt (Val) and Uncle (Tom) - Their last trip was in 2008 with their daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Apparently they never left Toontown so they were very happy to learn that it was no more. :p
IMG_3949.jpg

My cousin (Kevin) and his wife (Allyson) - This was their first trip to WDW since they were kids.
IMG_3914.jpg

Wes’ Mom and Dad - They are DVC members and have been going just about once a year since '91 so they take a much more relaxed approach to their trips.

When: Sunday November 25th – Friday November 30th

Where: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

A Little Background Info
This trip started off with only 6 of us going; my parents, aunt and uncle and me and Wes. One weekend at the beach, we were talking to my cousin and his wife about our trip and my aunt talked them into going on our trip. We were around the 81-day mark when we added an additional 2 to our party. We had made all of our reservations at 180 days out so now we were on a mission to try to add 2 more to each reservation. Tammy was able to work her magic and get half of our reservations switched from 6 to 8 and I booked some backups for Kevin and Allyson, just in case they couldn’t eat with us. Then around the 45-day mark, Wes’ parents decided that they were also going to WDW the same time we were. Oh boy. Our party had gone from 6 to 8 to 10! My head was exploding. Hahaha I told Wes there was no way I was changing reservations again. Luckily, Wes’ parents didn’t plan on spending the entire trip with us since they don’t go to the parks every day so they were only going to join us a couple days and for one meal. After many revisions, our plans were finalized and we were ready for our trip! :D

Sunday November 25th – Disney World Here We Come!
When we planned our trip, it slipped my mind that today would be one of the busiest travel days of the year; The Sunday after Thanksgiving. Oops. We were hoping for the best but we decided we better get to the airport with some extra time just in case.

Our flight was at 9am so the plan was to leave for the airport at 6:45am. We drove to my parent’s house to meet everybody, drop off the dog with the dog sitter, and left their house a little after 7 to head to the airport. My Dad and cousin dropped the rest of us off with all of the luggage and went to park the cars in long-term parking. We checked all of our bags at curbside check in and the baggage handler couldn’t have been better. He told us all we could wait inside, since it was so cold, and brought us our boarding passes. We made our way to security and the line was the longest I have ever seen it. We got in line and slowly made our way to through security.

The line moved quicker than we thought and by the time we were through, my Dad and Kevin were almost to the front of the line. We made it to the gate by 7:49. Not too shabby. The Southwest terminal at RDU is amazing. The security line was the longest I had ever seen it and still, from the time we left our house to the time we were at the gate was only about 49 minutes. Amazing.

Our flight was easy and uneventful. We landed about 10 minutes early and I was really excited to be ahead of schedule. Then we waited on the tarmac for an additional 15 minutes and ended up getting off the plane later than our original arrival time. Not so great. We made our way to Disney’s Magical Express and there were more complications. We all went through with our booklets and then Kevin and Allyson realized that their booklet didn’t have the same barcode as ours. The cast member told them they would have to wait in the line at the counter to get one. Ugh. The trip had barely started and I was already stressed. As Kevin and Allyson were waiting in line, they realized that they had a separate DME booklet with their barcode. So after only a 5-minute delay, they were joining us in line. I asked if they had another booklet but they didn’t think they did. I should have looked at all of their paperwork beforehand but I just assumed their barcode would be in the same spot as ours. After a few minor delays, we were on the bus on our way to the Yacht Club!

IMG_3700.jpg

Woo hoo!

With the way our morning was going, of course, the Yacht Club was the very last stop. Hahaha Isn’t that always how it is?! :) We arrived at 12:15, an hour after boarding DME. It had been a long, somewhat stressful morning but I was instantly relaxed once we entered the Yacht Club lobby! I had to pick up some MVMCP tickets for Wes’ parents and pick up Wes’ park ticket so I went to the concierge while everyone else went to check in.

I got the tickets with a minor wait and met everyone else at check in. We had requested adjoining rooms and were pleased to learn that we would get rooms right next to each other! Two of the rooms were ready, our room and Val and Tom’s. We were on the 2nd floor so we made our way to the elevators so everyone could drop off their luggage in our rooms. I was too busy with getting the tickets and checking in to take any pictures of the lobby but there would be many more later. Wes’ parents had arrived the day before so they went over to Beaches and Cream to put our name on the list for a table for 10. They were already there and waiting so after checking in, Wes went to join them while we dropped off our bags.

I was really excited because our room was really close to the elevators and later we realized that we were super close to the stairs in the lobby so waiting for elevators wasn’t necessary.

IMG_3705.jpg

My parents dropped off their bags in our room so I needed to wait until after their room was ready to take pictures of the room. There were just too many bags and people in the way to take pictures now. :) We were also in a hurry to get to lunch at Beaches and Cream! We went next door to Val and Tom’s room to gather everyone for lunch. Wes and I had bought a little gift to give Tom for our trip. When we first started talking about this trip and staying at the Yacht Club, Wes and I decided that we should start calling Tom the Captain. The idea initially started from the How I Met Your Mother episode with the Captain. Now Tom doesn’t remind us of the Captain on the show but we just thought it would be funny for him to wear a Captain’s hat at the Yacht Club.

IMG_3704.jpg

Tom really enjoyed his hat!

Wes texted me to let me know that our table at Beaches and Cream was ready so we all made our way to the restaurant.

IMG_3728.jpg

IMG_0603.jpg

Instagram love.

IMG_3709.jpg

We were initially all seated around 2 of the round tables in the middle of the restaurant. Now, remember, there were 10 of us seated around those 2 small tables. As soon as our drinks were delivered it confirmed that there was no way that food for 10 people would fit on the table. We asked if we could pull up another round table but they said it was in another section so we couldn’t. Luckily there was a booth open that they said we could use so 4 of us moved there so we could eat our lunch without being so cramped.

IMG_3710.jpg

We were on the Deluxe Dining Plan for this trip so there are a lot of food pictures for this trip report! :D We ordered appetizers and I was so upset because my Dad, Tom and Kevin didn’t order appetizers! How can you not order an appetizer when you are on the DDP?! Hahaha I let it slide since it was just the first meal of the trip but I still didn’t like it. My Mom, Val and I ordered onion rings, and Wes and Allyson ordered Caesar salads. Unfortunately since Allyson was sitting at the other table, I wasn’t able to get a picture of her salad before she started eating it and Wes gave his salad to his Mom so I didn’t get a picture of it either.

IMG_3711.jpg

Mmmm delicious!
IMG_3712.jpg

My Mom made a Mickey out of onion rings.

When we got up there, the place was pretty packed. There were no spaces at the bar and the lounge area was completely full. We stood around the lounge area and a few minutes later, a group was leaving their table. We snagged it and were able to find 5 chairs. The guys went up to the bar to get everyone some drinks. I decided to get a Mai Tai, as I was still slightly annoyed and needed something to unwind! :D

IMG_4628.jpg

The California Grill has the best view!

IMG_4629.jpg

This drink was so good!

I checked with the hostess to see if we would be able to all sit together and they said that we should be able to. They also said that our table should be ready shortly. Our buzzer went off at 7:55 and the hostess showed me where our table would be and said we could sit down if we wanted or go outside to watch the fireworks. My Mom and I wanted to go outside on the observation deck and we asked everyone else and they all wanted to stay inside. Ugh. What was wrong with everyone?! Oh well. I wasn’t going to let everyone ruin my night any longer.

IMG_4632.jpg

One shot to prove I saw the fireworks :)

The fireworks were great! I love watching them from the observation deck with the music piped in! We went back in to the restaurant and met everyone at our table.

IMG_4638.jpg

IMG_4642-2.jpg

It was good that we were seated so late because I still wasn’t that hungry. But it was time for appetizers so let the eating begin! :D For appetizers, I ordered the heirloom apple salad, Wes and Allyson got the spicy Kazan roll, my Mom got the smoked salmon flatbread, my dad got the potato gnocchi, Val got the triple cheese flatbread, Tom got the California roll, and Kevin got the bacon cheeseburger flatbread.

IMG_4643.jpg

I liked the chopsticks wrapper!

Appetizers were a mix of good, not so good and amazing choices! My salad was good but not great. My Mom said her flat bread was not good at all. Luckily, we all shared food so I got to try some of Val’s triple cheese flatbread which was AMAZING! So simple but delicious! The sushi is a favorite of Wes and I’s so we both enjoyed the California rolls and the Kazan rolls. Kevin’s bacon cheesburger flatbread was actually surprisingly good. We were pretty shocked since its description sounded disgusting but it was tasty!

IMG_4653.jpg

View from our table. You can see the castle to the right of my Dad.

IMG_4654.jpg

I liked the stirrer in Tom’s drink. Very cute!

Next, we moved on to entrees. My Mom, Kevin and I ordered the scallops, Wes and Val got the filet, my Dad and Tom got the veal chops and Allyson got the chicken.

Everyone was very happy with their entrees. Tom said the veal chop was AMAZING. Again, I was pretty full so when it was time to order dessert I decided to get the sugar free apple crisp. Wes got the crème brulee, my Mom, Tom and Allyson got the chocolate sampler, my Dad and Val got the chocolate cake and Kevin got the spice cake.

My dessert would have been good if it had sugar in it. Hahaha I knew that it had no sugar but I thought it might be able to be good without it. It wasn’t. Hahaha The chocolate sampler was a hit and everyone said the whoopie pies were amazing! Wes liked the crème brulee but the popcorn was really hard. It was kind of hard to eat.

Everyone enjoyed the dinner. We ended up being at dinner until around 10:30. It had been a really long day and I was pretty buzzed from my one drink at dinner. :D We didn’t feel like taking a bus to Downtown Disney and then to the Yacht Club so we ended up taking two cabs back to the resort. We got back at 10:50 and I was asleep around 11:45. Tomorrow would be our last full day in the parks and it was going to be an early morning.

Up next: Last Full Day in the Parks :(

Everest was a great way to wake up this morning! Everyone really enjoyed it. Tom was so funny because as soon as we started going backwards he was yelling at my Dad saying “This is all your fault! You did this to me!” :D Hahaha Our PhotoPass pictures were great! I wish we were all in the same photo though.

That is priceless!

I love that song too, that they play on the radio. Anyone know where I can download a copy? I don’t know the words but I sure do love to sing it! :D

IMG_4491.jpg

There’s lions up there, I swear!

IMG_4495.jpg

The addition of the zebras was great! There were so many of them!

I love that song, too! Great KS pics.

Dinosaur is one of my favorites too!! :D

So glad everyone liked Le Cellier. LC is my favorite and I'm super sad were not going there in May. If it were just my sister, my mom and me we would go but we're with 3 other family members and we think they would like Via Napoli better so we're going there instead. We will go back in LC in Sept I think.

I was super bummed reading that everyone seemed like they didn't like the Osborne Lights :( Those lights are amazing and I get goosebumps listening to the music and watching them dance. LOVE them!!

Muffin-gate!! Hilarious!!

I'm sad they weren't blown away by the lights too!! Because they really should have been. :)

I'm glad you had fun, even when surrounded by family who tried to squash the magic sometimes.

I was really happy that everyone love Le Cellier. I wasn't too worried about it since its pretty hard not to love Le Cellier! Via Napoli is a good choice!

I was so bummed! Here I thought the Osborne Lights would be the highlight of the trip and no one seemed that interested. Everyone said they liked them but they certainly didn't love them like I thought they would. We were there for about 45 minutes and I could have spent hours there listening to the music and watching the lights dance.

Yea...those dang muffins almost ruined the trip! :D

I know! I was so sad that night but the Mai Tai helped me get over it. Hahaha

I love my family but spending close to 16 hours a day together for 4 days straight was starting to impact everyone's mood. The last two days would be better! More to come on how. :)

Ashley I always enjoy reading your trip reports and looking at your photo's that you take. I also wish that I could either live closer or go more often to Disney. Myself and my family have not been since 2010 so we are truly hoping to get there someday real soon.

Thanks! I'm glad you are enjoying it. :) If only WDW wasn't so far away from where I choose to live. Hahaha I could always move there but the Florida heat in the summer is just too much for me to handle. I hope you get to go back soon!

I use the Lines app by Touringplans.com. I find it to be pretty accurate. Thanks for reading!

I was so surprised at how good it was! I mean, I knew it was a good restaurant but I just didn't remember it being that good. Man, it was good! :D YAY YAY for wedding day dinner! It's a really romantic restaurant little restaurant and watching the fireworks from the deck outside is pretty neat. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

I know! I realized after we parted ways that we forgot to take a picture. So bad of both of us since we love taking pictures. Hahaha Next time we are there at the same time we will have to take one!

Don't leave us hanging! Your trip looks amazing! :)

I'm sorry! Things have been super busy. More coming now! :D We had an amazing time.

Thursday, November 29th – We’re Going Big Before We Go Home!

Sadly, today was our last full day in the parks. :( The Magic Kingdom was opening at 7am this morning for extra magic hours and I wanted to be there! The day before I had reminded everyone that I would be going to be at the MK at 7am and they could come with me or not. Not surprising, everyone decided to pass on getting to the parks so early. Wes, the wonderful husband that he is, said he would go with me! So we were up and moving at 6:15. Yikes!

IMG_4667.jpg

This is what it looked like at 6:15am

IMG_4668.jpg

We got to the bus stop and a MK bus pulled up minutes later. Woo hoo! We arrived at the MK at 6:35. In all my years of going to WDW, I finally made it to the MK with plenty of time to see the opening show. We made our way up to the turnstiles and waited with the small crowd that was also as crazy as we were to be there for park opening.

IMG_4669.jpg

IMG_4673.jpg

Not too many people there with us

IMG_4674.jpg

About ten minutes before park opening, they let us through the turnstiles to watch the opening show. There were probably only 100 to maybe 150 people there for the opening show. It was pretty cool to be there with so few people around. Instead of running to the ropes, we stood back by the circular flower bed and had a great view of the opening show!

IMG_4679.jpg

IMG_4683.jpg

IMG_4687.jpg

I thought the opening show was cute. I had seen most of it back in February, for the first time ever…crazy, I know, but this was the first time I really got to enjoy it. After the show, we made our way into the park.

IMG_4689.jpg

As soon as we entered, we noticed a lot of people I would refer to as “dudes in suits”. You could tell that they weren’t the usual cast members since they weren’t in costumes but they all had name badges. Turns out they were setting up for the Christmas Day Parade taping! Sweet! Wes and I were both Communications majors so productions like this really interest us. We took our time walking down Main Street taking in all the equipment and shots being set up.

IMG_4691.jpg

IMG_4692.jpg

These weren’t here the other day!

IMG_4694.jpg

Since the park was so empty, we stopped to get some PhotoPass pictures in front of the castle.

41933540109.jpg

We decided to head to Fantasyland and ride Winnie the Pooh since we didn’t get to ride it yet. This ride is just too cute to miss. There was absolutely no wait and we took a nice little trip through the hundred acre woods.

Next up was New Fantasyland. I wanted to see what the wait was for Enchanted Tales with Belle and I wanted to take some pictures in the day light.

20 minutes? I’ll take it!

Since there was only a 20 minute wait and I really wanted to see this new attraction, we hopped in line. The views from the outside queue were really nice and the details inside Maurice’s cottage were awesome.

IMG_4707.jpg

IMG_4710.jpg

IMG_4712.jpg

IMG_4713.jpg

This was the COOLEST!!

It was a little strange waiting in the main room, then waiting in the workshop, then once through the magic mirror, there was another room to wait in. It was all a little deceiving. Once in the pre-show room, the cast member chose numerous people to play a part in the story and handed out the props. Wes and I were lucky enough to be in the back of the room behind some really tall people so we weren’t picked. :D

IMG_4715.jpg

The library was super cool! I loved the details and the Lumiere character was really well done.

IMG_4717.jpg

This guy playing one of the knights was really funny. He really got into his character!

IMG_4719.jpg

Overall, I really enjoyed this new attraction! It was really cute and I could just see little kids absolutely loving it! I don’t think I will see it again any time soon since I don’t have any kids, but it is definitely worth a see if you haven’t seen it before!

It was almost time for us to meet the family at the Crystal Palace for our 8:05 breakfast reservations so we quickly walked through New Fantasyland to take some pictures.

When we got there, my Mom was checking us in. We received a buzzer and it went off right as they were opening the restaurant. We weren’t their family of the day, but we were the next party seated. There was no one else on our side of the restaurant.

IMG_4732.jpg

Even though we were the second family seated, we were the first ones to the buffet! Yum! We all quickly made our way to the buffet for some good food!

The characters came out shortly after we got our food.

IMG_4739.jpg

Is that a hidden Mickey on my plate?! It looks like it to me!

We didn’t wait for Tigger or Piglet. I know, its terrible but we had places to go and attractions to see! We finished breakfast a little before 9 which was great because we had some attractions we still needed to see before we left the MK.

IMG_4740.jpg

After leaving the Crystal Palace, we went to Splash Mountain to pick up some FPs. Next up was Peter Pan’s Flight! On the way to Fantasyland, we needed to stop for a bio break so I got to take some pictures of Rapunzel’s tower.

IMG_4742.jpg

I can’t wait to see this area finished!

IMG_4743.jpg

We rode Peter Pan with minimal wait, and then it was on to Mickey’s PhilharMagic.

IMG_4745.jpg

We wanted to see the Hall of President’s next but there were 30 minutes to the next show so we decided to go use our Splash Mountain FPs. Val and Tom didn’t want to go with us to ride Splash. Tom had been a trooper with the thrill rides all week so I couldn’t blame him for wanting to sit out. I was a little sad that we all wouldn’t be in a log flume together but I still got 6 of us in the picture so it wasn’t a total loss.

LOVE this picture!

After SM, we rushed back to HoP.

IMG_4756.jpg

View of Rapunzel’s tower from Frontierland

When we got to the HoP, we had missed the show and it was another 20 minutes until the next one. Val and Tom didn’t go in to the show because they didn’t want us to wonder where they were. So we looked through Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe to kill the time before the next show.

Kevin and Allyson decided that they didn’t want to see the Hall of Presidents so they headed back to the room.

IMG_4757.jpg

IMG_4758.jpg

IMG_4762.jpg

After HoP, it was time for us to leave the MK and head to Epcot for lunch. Before we left the park, we wanted to use some of our snack credits at the Main Street Bakery. I got some popcorn and a bunch of Mickey rice krispy treats. :) I love that you can get these on snack credits!

IMG_4763.jpg

How funny are these?! I didn’t buy any but thought they were worth taking a picture.

As we were leaving, the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It parade was starting. Somehow on the last three of my trips, every time I am leaving the MK, this parade is going by. The song gets me teary eyed every time since I always hear it as I am leaving the MK for the last time on that trip. We stopped for a minute to watch.

We left the MK a little after 11 and I wasn’t sure how we should get to Epcot. I didn’t know if the monorail, ferry to the TTC or bus would be faster. We saw a ferry from the TTC approaching right as we were walking up so it made our decision for us.

IMG_4773.jpg

We went up to wait to get on the ferry and the captain told us that this ferry wasn’t taking any passengers. Bummer! I had checked the FP return time for Soarin and it was when we would need to line up for the Candlelight Processional so we would have to wait to get them later. So our next plan was to take a bus to the Yacht Club and walk through the International Gateway to our lunch reservations at the Rose and Crown. We went to wait for the bus and a Boardwalk bus pulled up before the Yacht Club so we took that bus instead.

While on the bus, I checked the FP return time for Soarin again and it was now a time that we could use them. Dang. So the new plan was once we got through the International Gateway, I would run up to Soarin to grab FPs. Once we got to the Boardwalk, some of the group needed a bio break so Wes and I took a picture in the spot where we got engaged in 2010.

IMG_4777.jpg

We were then on our way to Epcot.

IMG_4778.jpg

View of the Yacht Club from the Boardwalk walkway

We went through the turnstiles and I grabbed everyone’s tickets and speed walked to the Land pavilion to get some FPs. Allyson texted me to ask where we were and if they should get some FPs for Soarin. They were in the Land pavilion now so I told her to get some FPs and I would be there soon. As they were exiting the Land, I arrived, ran in and got our FPs and we were off to the UK for our lunch reservation at the Rose and Crown.

Wes had checked us in while we were getting FPs and they were waiting to seat us until all of us were there. As soon as Kevin, Allyson and I walked up we were seated inside.

We ordered our appetizers and we got 4 different appetizers. Allyson and I got the frisee and apple salad, Wes, Tom and my Dad got the trio of UK cheeses, my Mom and Val got the Mary and the Lads and Kevin got the roasted sea scallops.

Appetizers were just okay. Nothing to write home about. Next up was entrees. My Mom, Tom, Allyson and I got the fish and chips, Wes got the bangers and mash, my Dad got the cottage pie, and Val and Kevin got the burger.

Again, our entrees were just ok. So far the meal hadn’t been that great but we still had dessert left. I got the cheesecake, Wes and Kevin got the Queen’s cake, my Dad got the Jaffa tarts, Tom got the sticky toffee pudding, Allyson just got some vanilla ice cream and my Mom got vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce.

After desserts, it was confirmed that our meal was just okay. :( No one really enjoyed anything. I felt bad since I had picked this restaurant but Wes and I really liked our meal there back in 2010. Oh well.

Val, Tom, Kevin and Allyson decided to head back to the resort after lunch. The group finally splitting up and spending some time apart was really great. I was so glad that everyone was feeling comfortable enough with the parks to go around on their own. With a larger party like we had, it makes thing so much better for everyone if people spend a little time apart. Spending 16 hours a day with people for 6 days straight just isn’t a good idea. :D

So the 4 of them went back to the resort and Wes was going to meet his parents to hang out for a little bit with them. So Wes went to Germany and me and my parents decided to go see the American Adventure.

NPH tonight! Woo :D

We had some time to kill before the next show so we walked around and checked out the decorations and shops.

It was almost time for the show so we went inside and listened to the Voices of Liberty sing for a little bit. They are pretty darn good! By the way, I love the American Adventure. Such a great show. I always feel so patriotic after leaving.

I called Wes to see where he was and they were still in Germany. So we made our way over there to hang out for a little while with Wes’ parents. And it isn’t a trip to Germany without checking out their Christmas shop! Love it!

It was a little after 3 and we decided we might as well get in line now for the Candlelight Processional. Before we left, we got a quick PhotoPass picture in Germany.

After leaving Germany, we decided it was time to get in line for the Candlelight Processional. Originally, we had planned to get in line a little before 4 but we had seen people already lining up so we figured we might as well get in line. So the 6 of us got in line and it was already a little long. Apparently there was a woman at the front of the line who had been waiting since 1pm! Crazy!

While we waited in line, I was sending messages to Jess (@PartOfYourWorld) through Twitter. We had tried to meet up on Tuesday during MVMCP but things were just too crazy and we never were able to get in the same place at the same time. Today we were both in Epcot and we were both going to the 5pm Candlelight Processional so I knew it was our best shot to meet up. Wes and I went to meet Jess and her mom in France. It was so nice to finally meet in person after talking online for so long. We chatted with Jess and her mom for a little while and then we all walked back to the Candlelight Processional line. Jess and her mom had gotten the Candlelight lunch package so they were standing in a separate line. Their line was all the way back to Japan when they got there. We said our goodbyes and went back to join our group in the standby line.

Shortly after meeting up with our family in line, a cast member came through with a clicker and was counting how many people there were. He asked us how many we would have in our party and we let him know that we would have 10. Val, Tom, Kevin and Allyson were going to meet us at 4. Originally we had picked a place in line where we were right up to the rope so they could easily see us but they made everyone move up so we were at the very far end of the line now against the railings next to the lagoon.

While we waited in line, we saw the globe moving out to its spot for IllumiNations.

It was pretty cool watching all the guys on the barges moving out to their spots. It kept us entertained while we waited in line. At this time, Allyson texted me to say that they were at the America pavilion so I went out to find them. When we got back in line, a couple people behind us were angry and thought we were all cutting in line. We let them know that the man with the clicker already counted our group but they still seemed mad. Oh well.

There were so many people in both the dinner package line and our line that I was worried we might not make it into the 5pm show. They started letting the standby line around 4:40 and we made it into the theater! It’s amazing how many people that can fit in there. We got really good seats and I was very excited for everyone to see the show. I was hoping they would like it.

Not long after was sat down, did the choir start filing in to the stage.

There’s NPH!! :D

The show was absolutely FANTASTIC! I LOVE Neil Patrick Harris! He did a great job. During all of the songs, he looked like he was about to bust out in song and dance! Hahaha It was really hard for him to stand still. It was great when he finally got to start singing along with the choir.

We left the amphitheater and made our way to Soarin to use our FPs. Everyone loved the show. Tom said it was his favorite part of the trip! We stopped in France on our way to Soarin to say goodbye to Wes’ parents. They were going over to Hollywood Studios to see the Osborne Lights.

We then walked to the Land and used our Soarin FPs.

Oh Puddy…you are the BEST!

We got seats in the middle section again and it was another great flight over California. Tom was so funny because he flinched again when the golf ball came flying at us. After Soarin, we had some time to kill before dinner so the girls decided to do some shopping in MouseGear. The boys didn’t want to join us so they went to have some drinks in Mexico before our dinner.

I love looking at all the merchandise and taking pictures of cute items. It is amazing that I don’t spend all my money when I’m in the gift shops! :D I hadn’t bought anything yet this trip so I wanted to get a couple things before we left.

I ended up buying a Team Donald shirt and a couple things for Christmas gifts. I did really well only buying one thing for myself! :D Everyone else bought a couple of items and then we made our way to Mexico. We saw a PhotoPass photographer near the Christmas tree and decided to stop.

We then decided to stop in the Duffy store because Val wanted to buy one for her granddaughter. That Duffy is just so darn cute! While there, Allyson also wanted to buy something for her niece, so she got a really cute Winnie the Pooh pillow pet thing. We had made plenty of purchases at this point so we finally joined the guys in Mexico.

They were sitting outside at La Cantina de San Angel. Wes had already checked in for dinner and was given a buzzer. They had called us before we got there but Wes told them to call us later since us girls weren’t there yet. My Mom and I wanted to go inside the Mexico pavilion but no one else wanted to join us. So we left our bags with everyone else and went inside the pavilion.

Cute little Fiesta Donald’s

We walked around the shops and rode the Grand Fiesta Tour before Wes texted me saying that our buzzer had gone off again.

IMG_4836.jpg

We got a really nice table right in the middle of the restaurant that was close to some windows. It looked like we would have a pretty good view of IllumiNations! I just hoped we could drag out our meal long enough to see them from inside the restaurant.

We ordered our drinks and I decided to try the Avocado margarita. It sounds so strange but I had heard really good things about it so I figured I would give it a try. Man, am I glad I did. That thing is delicious!! :D I really want one right now.

IMG_4844.jpg

Pure deliciousness!

We were also brought some delicious chips and salsa while we waited for our appetizers.

IMG_4843.jpg

We all dug in immediately so I had to take a picture with people’s hands in the way. :D

For appetizers, I ordered the crema de elote, Wes, my Mom, Tom and Kevin all got the taquizas, my Dad and Tom got the queso fundido and Allyson got the camarones a la parrilla.
