Awesome isn't it? If to make me more upset, it'll only stand for 2 Months. So I'll never see it even more.

 :(

Still...

Servo, don't know about the post but methinks your avatar takes the cake for just-about-as-bizarre-as-you-can-get mode.

You've used Fumoffu avatars, right? Good stuff. My favorite anime is Last Exile still, but I don't really watch too much. I just like Fumoffu and Last Exile. lol

I'd explain it, but I don't think it'd do any good.

Nope, most of my avatars have been from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. (^See above avatar, Yuki and Mikuru do a little D64 Advertising for me.)

Gee, I sure wish more people were interested in GIANT ROBOTS other than myself.

<SNIP>

Really, none needed. I have a college-age Cosplayer who rooms with four others of the same ilk. She is fully immersed and I know more than I really want to about this stuff (Disney fans here couldn't hold a candle to some anime/manga fanatics I've seen). I sometimes regret getting her started on Sailor Moon 15+ years ago:brick:.

Have to admit, that is pretty cool. I was always more of a Robotech fan(I own the entire series on DVD and the only episode of "Robotech II: The Sentinels" ever made on an old VHS). Still, that would really be something to see in person.

Sadly the field is ripe with Posers. It's like Rock N Roll, Goth, or even Disney. They say their hard core, but the REAL hard core are much more reserved.

Here's a tip, you see a person shouting "ANIMEEEE!!!!!"

That shouting person is NOT an Otaku. Real Otaku don't talk to other people and spend their time waiting patiently and quietly in lines and spending their money on things.

It's sad really. It's like if people judged EVERYTHING about Disney solely by interacting with the crazy Pin Traders who spend all day at Downtown Disney trading with passerbys and look creepy.

So I just wrote a long post on the meaning of "hardcore" and how different people like different things (ex. I'm a 180 Top member, yet I'm in D23) and why a hardcore person can also scream "DISNEEEY!!!", but then I decided that it was way off topic. So I'm going to post my post:

THIS IS SO COOL!!!!! Why does Tokyo get all the cool things? (initiate debate)

BTW, I do not consider myself as "hardcore"!

WOW, that's awesome!

Not a Gundam fan, but still awesome.:D

You need to watch so much Gundam. I mean, have you ever seen any of the many vastly different series?

Gundam Wing...Mobile Suit Gundam...Gundam 00 most recently. If you're to see one, look up The 08th MS Team. Vietnam style combat with Mechs, with a little bit of MASH, lil' bit of Apocalypse Now and a Shakespeare-ian story. It's so good...

Anyways...The best Gundam series are simple...Geopolitical Conflict + Gripping Story + Strategic ground warfare + Pilots struggling with inner conflict + Giant Robots = :D

Have no idea what a Gundam is.
Just a big robot thing?:veryconfu

It's a big robot thing. At least from what I can see.

A Gundam (in the orginal series' case) is a highly advanced type Mobile Suit. Several stories tall and piloted from a one person cockpit in the chest, Mobile Suits are used for both ground and space warfare. Think Tank, meets Jet Plane, meets giant robot.

Their are tons of different series in the Gundam franchise, but unlike American "run it til' it stops making money" ideals, each Gundam series is vastly different and most even take place in entirely different visons of future history, and the terrors of war. Great storytelling, reimagings, and the romantic and fantastic allure of these giant mech fights have managed to captivate the imagination for nearly 30 years now.
