It’s All About the Baby! A Gigi & Papaw take the Grandbaby Trip Report- 11-25-11-30

We just got back last night, but I am so excited to start this trip report.

At the last minute, his mom decided to let him go with us so we basically changed everything.

And it was Amazing!

I was born a Disney lover, I think- but it was taking my son the first time (my first trip too) that solidified the almost insane degree of love I have for it. The baby has been, last year, but he was so much smaller, this was just at that perfect age. He loved everything! Just like his daddy did 20 years ago. Getting to experience it again and see it through his eyes- priceless and only comes in second to taking my first, best Disney buddy. (His daddy) Actually it might be a tie.

We started with a day at the beach, so we would not have such a long ride- (we left a very cold ice storm here)

It was too cold to play in the water of course, but the toes. He still had an awesome time.

We got up at 3:00 am to beat traffic. Cool pics of the trees at Jekyll when we left.

We arrived at Coronado Springs at a little after 7:00 am. Was hoping room would be ready, but should have known better it being the time of year it was. A quick freshen up in the bathrooms and we headed straight to MK!




We chose the Ferry so he could watch the castle get closer. Then off to Buzz!

Played some games-

This was the EE FP line. Never in my life saw anything like this before.

Stopped to take my Hidden Mickey picture when a very sweet CM showed me a few more I had never noticed.

Plus a Hidden Baloo

And Scar!

So cool.
We then headed to Tusker House

We usually go in September or May. This was probably our last Christmas time trip. Just too cold and too crowded. The hat and gloves will come in handy this weekend for sure though!

I love Tusker House. It is one of the best character interactions of them all. Probably the best, IMO and always has been. Always wonderful service, great character handlers and the food is wonderful. We used to be big Boma fans but I think Tusker House is just as good, plus there are characters! No brainer for me.

I will start with the food- I cheated and had cornbread. It did not bother me that bad, and thankfully it was later that night.

And Mickey-
By now somebody was a pro at meeting characters. He talks so good for his age and talked each character’s head off. Told each one he watches them on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every day.

As you can see he also had to introduce Present as well. I this kid!

You know we did breakfast, and it was just us two adults, it was good breakfast and good character interaction. I have to say, I actually never noticed a handler with each of them!

They are usually just kind of walking around but there was the sweetest CM that was talking to the baby and then when Goofy came over she came back and told him all the things he had told her about Max. He loves Goof Troop and the Goofy movies. It was very cute. We have been there just us two, with the kids as late teens and with little ones. The interaction is always so good no matter the age.

Goofy, at Tusker House.
The best handler, ever. She was so sweet. Came back and told Goofy, everything the baby told her. I kept thinking seeing it eye to eye- but nose to nose.
He got so excited when the baby talked about Maxie. He loves Goof Troop, and the whole trip down said Gigi, are we on the Open Road?

Wow....I feel like the only person in the world who had a terrible experience at Tusker House and we refuse to go back. I'm glad yours was so much better!

Sorry to hear that! I have lost count how many times we have eaten there, and is always great. I feel that way about Chef Mickey’s. It is so chaotic. The characters are so rushed. We did it twice and I won’t go back. I didn’t care for the food either so that didn’t help. Okay food I can deal with if the character experience and service make up for it.

Next was Donald, and I have to tell the story behind the pics. He of course, introduced Present. Then moved onto how he watched him in Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Donald launched into the Hot Dog Dance! Then out of the corner of Stinker’s eye, he saw Daisy. He pointed and said Daisy! Donald looked and Papaw said did you tell Donald you have a crush on Daisy? He tried on the Goofy hat, and then when Daisy came up, He asked her how is she gonna wear her hair, (if you watch Mickey’s Clubhouse you will know the episode) He also said he had a crush on her and then the magic happened. I love Donald and Daisy here- they never disappoint. Even with teens- but this was just priceless. We got amazing video too. Heavy photos coming up!
