It’s All About the Baby! A Gigi & Papaw take the Grandbaby Trip Report- 11-25-11-30

We just got back last night, but I am so excited to start this trip report.

At the last minute, his mom decided to let him go with us so we basically changed everything.

And it was Amazing!

I was born a Disney lover, I think- but it was taking my son the first time (my first trip too) that solidified the almost insane degree of love I have for it. The baby has been, last year, but he was so much smaller, this was just at that perfect age. He loved everything! Just like his daddy did 20 years ago. Getting to experience it again and see it through his eyes- priceless and only comes in second to taking my first, best Disney buddy. (His daddy) Actually it might be a tie. ;)

We started with a day at the beach, so we would not have such a long ride- (we left a very cold ice storm here)

It was too cold to play in the water of course, but the toes. He still had an awesome time.

We got up at 3:00 am to beat traffic. Cool pics of the trees at Jekyll when we left.

We arrived at Coronado Springs at a little after 7:00 am. Was hoping room would be ready, but should have known better it being the time of year it was. A quick freshen up in the bathrooms and we headed straight to MK!

We chose the Ferry so he could watch the castle get closer. Then off to Buzz!

What a great trip (and TR 😀). Glad you didn’t loose power and despite Not wanting it to snow, it looks like your snow buddy changed your mind for a while 😉
He did make it fun. A little one can make just about anything fun. Thanks for reading!
GOOD times & smiles for ALL :D
Thanks for reading, we had an amazing time.
Great TR
I loves your wrap up post

Walt wanted to create place that could be enjoyed together by the young and young at heart.

Mission accomplished

Max
You are absolutely right Max! Can’t wait to hear all about your trip soon.
Great trip report!! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time with your grandson!!
I hope the snow melts quickly for you!!

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and thanks for reading.
Great report! Watching your kids grow up can be so satisfying yet so hard. So happy that you have a new Disney fan to spoil!
Thank you, and yes, I am tickled to death to have another go at it with the little fella. They are so sweet at that age. I don’t know what I will do when he grows up. Thankfully, I have awhile before I have to worry about that! ;)

Oh, I remember December 2009 well. Too well lol, we got around 17 inches the middle of December then another 13 Christmas Day. It was an odd year to do that much in December. Granted, the Christmas Day was beautiful but it didn’t melt in the front yard until Spring because it kept on and on! The kids were out of school well before Christmas break and well after New Year’s Day. I also realized that it was also the last year I went to Walt Disney World in November! 😑 I was probably in the process of writing that report at the time it hit. We also moved a little bit further south about 12 years ago and it seems that we get more here than the literal foot of the mountain where we used to live. Go figure... 😂

Where I live currently in Virginia, we were only supposed to get a maximum 4 inches of snow on Sunday. We ended up with 8 before the sleet began. It was a heavy, wet snow so we lost power Sunday at 4:30 and didn't get it back until last night after 8pm. Unfortunately, we didn't have a generator because the darn thing broke completely during our power outage during Hurricane Michael. I really hope this winter isn't anything like 2009-2010. I'm still trying to convince my husband we need to move to central FL :)

I second that! I am so sorry you were without power. I don’t know what we would have done without the generator. I was shocked, it ran most of the house, just had to cut some things off to run big things like the pump for water but the heat stayed on. Some people close by are still waiting on power. My son’s best friend from high school has been staying with us until his power came back on today. I am good though, I don’t need to see anymore this season! Lol there is still probably 8 inches today.

So, I always post random animal pics in my reports. I had not had a visit from my Turkeys since Thanksgiving- they attacked DisneyB. It was hilarious- yet when I called to mom, Joseph because I had thought she was a boy- she knows her name. She flew up to my porch to eat. And cooed at me. The babies were Jakes and mean a can be. She is not. She got back on the porch today when I called her. Another Jenny or the other baby we had not seen in forever is now back! I love nature! Unless it is a bat, or a snake. 😍

Love the picture of the turkey! We had a group of wild ones where we currently live. But since the man bought the property around us, the majority of the turkeys have disappeared because he's shot most of them. I saw 2 a few months ago but not a sign of them since. Last month, I was outside walking my dog and I heard a flock of Canadian geese. I just relaxed and listened to the sound of them flying closer - until I heard gunshots and the geese went silent.....

The mom, has been here for 2 1/2 years. She came daily (except mating season) until she had the last babies. She must have been kicked out or gotten lost from her group. She would even roost on my porch when it rained or snowed. It is weird I know, but I adore her, she will eat from my hand. I expect the Jakes to get killed when hunting season rolls around but I hope the girl stays with her. I hate to see her alone. I honestly think she thinks I am her flock or something lol- in all reality though, if something happened to her, I would bawl like a baby. If someone saw me baby talking to a turkey, saying hey pretty bird and calling myself momma to her they would think I lost it. (I am just an animal freak tho lol- or a Turkey Whisperer) 😂
I dont know about where you are from, but here it is illegal to kill a hen, so hopefully she is safe.

That turkey looks at you like Jaeger looks at me when I mention a treat. :hilarious:
