Mary Poppins is based in England....not the U.S.A......

I still think it's waaaay too realistic for anything in Fantasyland. You suggested a london street, which theoretically could be another street at MS... and then just call it Main Street and not Main Street U.S.A....

Frontierland

Geyser Mountain - A freefall ride from an abandoned mine and into a previously extinct Geyser.

Western River Expedition - A wild west version of Pirates of the Carribean.

Thunder Valley Trails - A live Mule ride through the stunning vistas of Frontierland.

Tara - An AA walkthrough exhibit featuring the lives of wealthy americans in the days of the old west....it's a love story.

Adventureland

Serpent Encounter = An angry Giant Snake chases guests through this EMV-coaster hybrid of a ride through the jungles of adventure island.

Hmm, sounds good. How about giving it a Jungle Book overlay and using the snake from the film (can't remember it's name). I really, really, really want love Jungle book to be featured in AL...

stitchcastle said:
The Lost Treasure of Captain Morgan = Guests narrowly avoid cursed skeletons as they search for the legendary cave bearing Captain Morgan's treasure in this flume ride.

Isn't this really a new version of Pirates of the Carribean?

stitchcastle said:
Castaway Cay = A Play area designed to look like an abandoned camp by lost Castaways.

Could perhaps be a part of Adventure Island. Let me hear some more details...

stitchcastle said:
Adventure Mountain = An expedition in search of the world's largest mountain takes guests to long forbidden Adventure Mountain....home of the deadly Giant Gorilla called "Harimao".

Naa, rather have Fire Mountain then...

stitchcastle said:
The Lost World - using Test Track Technology, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous novel comes to life in Adventureland.

Can you say Animal Kingdom ;) Good idea though...

stitchcastle said:
Paradise Bay - A more laid back side to Adventureland, this area is designed to look similar to Kingdom Hearts' Destiny Island and would feature little shops and relaxing boat rides through the tropics with birds serenading guests.

I'd rahter create something original, although I had already planned a tropical getaway in AL, though not with as many features as your idea...

stitchcastle said:
Raging Spirits - another EMV-coaster based attraction featuring a temple invaded by foreigners angering the tikki spirits within.

Hmm, perhaps...but would be too much with another EMV coaster... i'd rather have the other EMV and perhaps save this for something else (Epcot, AK)

Perhaps, but it would almost be too much with another mountain in Frontierland...

Flying Saucers in Tomorrowland? Indoors and no character overlay.

Sci-Fi Zoo would be so cool. We could have a Skppy (or Lucky... i dont remember) AA in it!

Eh?

Then just turn it into "World Bazaar", Mainstreet is too American.

I believe London has a feeling of magic enough to make it fit in fantasyland. You seem to be limiting the boundaries of "fantasy" a little too much.

well I tried to ride in your bandwagon but all I keep getting are "no"s so i'll just pack my bags and leave you guys to it then...:) no hard feelings though...

What do you mean only "No"'s ??? Go back and read, there's plenty of stuff I wanted to hear more about and said it was good ideas...

And a no does not mean discussion is ended. It's only my stand in the case... this is a group project. Your voice is as big as mine...

Besides I love this whole idea process you are doing right now. Not only are you being creative, but forcing the rest of us to be creative as well. Keep the ideas coming, and god damn, fight for them! Are you a part of the project, you have as much to decide as the rest of us...

I've always loved the Geyser Mountain idea which I first saw in Stitch's redo of MK. Another mountain wouldn't be needed either it could go on the back of BTM.

One thing I think we need to settle right now is if we should sort of start all over. It seems to me that Stitchcastle want to base the different lands of a background story and create the rides based on that. I like this idea, since the story to me is very important, but it would mean that we would almost have to start all over...

So what's the notion?

The whole "story behind the lands" thing is something that has been done to the disney parks all the time....:)

Is there going to be a Discoveryland? It would be great to give ALL the lands their own Mountain....Toontown could have Splash Mountain, it's pretty cartoony anyway. I can see it now: (insert dreaming emoticon here) Fantasyland - Light Mountain [oooh my brain is going crazy with ideas for this one, it's got Fairies and unicorns and phoenixes written all over it!]; Shadowland - Bald Mountain; Adventureland - Fire Mountain; Frontierland - Big Thunder Mountain; Toontown - Splash Mountain; Tomorrowland - Space Mountain [same theme, new ride, think Mission: Space]; Discoveryland - Discovery Mountain [From the Earth to the Moon]

I'm gonna go hybernate now.....

I don't know about a Discoveryland. Might have to ask Nexus.

Umm.. Space Mountain like Mission: SPACE? I'm not too sure about this one...

BUT! On a happier note, I leave for my Disney Cruise in 11 DAYS!!!

First of all, begun on a new, more colered and a bit more detailed model of the castle. Just wanted to share my progress so far:

http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL721/3205922/6543169/91861115.jpg

And about the story behind the lands, I know it's always been there for the parks, but it seems like you wanted to rethink all the stories behind the lands...

Anyways, I don't think every land should have a mountain specifically, but more like a large icon, which is viewable from all around the park. Fire Mountain for AL, BTMR for Frontierland, Bald Mountain for SL, Cinderella Castle for FL, Scrooge's Moneybin for Toontown, Space Mountain for TL and the Railroad Station (although not as big) for Main Street...

And about a Discoveryland... well, I think it would be putting too many lands into the lot. Besides, there's always room for it at DisneySea ;)

Ok, I've decided (sorry if others disagree) that we should start from scratch, as the creative process would surely benefit from this. So lets take one land at a time, post all of our ideas both for attractions, shows, shops and dining and then decide upon the best possible list. You are also free, of course, to write a possible background story, tell how you would want the land divided into different sections, how it should be composed etc. Speak freely...

We start with
Adventureland

I unfortunately don't have much time to post today, so I'll make it quick:
- The area should be inspired by themes such as the Carribean, Polynesian, Tropical and Mexican/South-American culture, as well as inspired by Disney franchises such as The Jungle Book.
- The area should contain rides such as:
  • Fire Mountain, which would be the new icon for the land
  • An EMV ride based on The Jungle Book
  • A new and totally revamped version of Pirates of the Carribean
  • A new, original version of the Enchanted Tiki Room
  • The classic Jungle Cruise, although longer and with more content, story and action.
  • A large playground area, where kids of all ages can play around while parents enjoy refreshments
- Show wise, I believe The Three Caballaros (sp?) would be ideal for the land, although in a more family-friendly style than they usually are displayed.
- Dining should include tropical fruit snacks, BBQ grills and wok food.

Not bad, I think it would be huge stretch to make an EMV ride based on the Jungle Book, it's too cartoony to have such a realistic and advanced system used for it, perhaps a trackless darkride?

Here is my take on Adventureland for the Disney Isle's Magic Kingdom=

Adventureland

central Icon: ~*The Great Tikki Temple*~ - Having Fire Mountain as the main icon might confuse Adventureland with DisneySea and Mt. Prometheus, the Great Tikki Temple will be a towering monolith using design elements from Angkor Watt, The temples of thailand and of course Polynesian influences. The Great Tikki temple will have two(technically three) attractions inside:

Moto-Maji: The Spirits of the Temple - An amazing dueling coaster where guests invade areas of the temple where they aren't supposed to be in, they get caught in a raging battle of two temple Gods as they choose between The Altar of Fire (Moto) and The Altar of Water (Maji) to see which element will rule over the land.

The Enchanted Tikki Room - The more peaceful side of the temple, the Enchanted tikki room will be the same as the original only with much, much more AA's and more awe-inspiring music.

North of the "land" is ~*Carribbean Port*~ the transition area between Fantasyland and Adventureland the attractions here include:

The Muppet Treasure Island - A hilarious theater show/dark ride where the Muppets re-tell the story of Jim Hawkins.

World Bazaar - You enter a Carriebean market and encounter, deep inside, the merchant from Aladdin trying to sell you things when he accidentally unleashes the Genie. This is a hilarious slapstick live action + 3d-show featuring the Genie, Iago and a new AA character, Hakeem, the Sarcastic Camel.

Pirates of the Carribean: Curse of the Black Pearl - the classic Disneyland ride by day, a horrifying, but kind of hilarious, skeleton-a-thon at night.

Visible from the Carribean Port is ~*Adventure Bay*~, a massive play area featuring a giant tree-house (from Swiss Family Robinson) , Skull Rock and the Jolly Roger(from peter Pan), and an area themed to the Destiny Islands (Kingdom Hearts).

Adventure Bay is 3 play areas in one.

Baloo's Jungle Jamboree - Characters from both The Jungle Book and The Lion King join in this musical celebration reminiscent of FotLK in AK.

Deeper into the jungle is The Great Tikki Temple which is both the entrance and main icon of the land. deeper still, are...

Fire Mountain - A "morphing" rollercoaster that blasts you out of an erupting volcano.

The Amazing Jungle Expedition - Jungle Cruise + Kilimanjaro Safaris + Sibling Rivalry + Deforestation + Ancient Grave Robbery....

That's my take on it, who's next?

Hmm, I like your idea with the Tikki temple as the main icon, but wouldn't dueling coasters be too wild? Actually the Jungle Book EMV ride could very well fit into that temple, and personally, I think it could be done without being too cartoony. The Jungle Book has some very "scary" sides and it could pose for a lot of action...

World Bazaar, I think as anything else Aladdin, should go to DIsneySea if anything. I dunno how you feel about it, but when we also have a Animal Kingdom AND DIsneySea, actually in Phase I, we should keep that in mind...

The same applies to the Muppets... would it be stupid to ALSO place them in MK?

Good ride ideas though...

Adventure Bay sounds good, although I'm not convinced on the Kingdom Hearts area.

Baloo's Jungle Jamboree is ok I guess, nothing too exciting...

And I don't think we should ALSO have the Fire Mountain as well, do you? WOuldn't it be too much?

And lol, perhaps a little too much on the amazing jungle expedition :)

Heard about the POtC idea on JHM and I think it could work. Only problem IMO is the hours this ride will be running. If it is only running the darker version at night lets say 600 on. That'll only be 4 hours of running time during the summer per night probably less during the winter although it would still be warm people do not go on vacation as much during the winter so it would prob only be open til 800. Other than that I love the idea.

I agree with Nexus in saying a dueling inversion coaster is to intense for MK.

Edit: MAybe I misread are you talking a dueling dragons type coaster or a Lightning Racer/Gwazi wooden coaster.

it Won't be too scary just imagine a coaster like Big Thunder Mountain only it's indoors, has 2 tracks who fight against each other and at times spout projectile elements at each other.

The Jungle Book is a "fun" movie there are no really scary parts or even thrilling enough parts in it to make it suitable for a "thrill" ride. It's like turning Cinderella into a Space Ranger.

No, but the ride shouldn't be "scary" per say. The Jungle Book has some great evil characters though (the snake and Share'Khan) and some great enviroments to utilize (f.ex. king louie's temple could be this tikki temple with the treasure buried beneath or something). We do not have to duplicate the movies story in any way, so... but perhaps you're right...

But god damn people, where are all your ideas at? I need more ideas :)
