Is your daily life different with a Disney trip planned

Usually book our annual trip from the UK about 9 months in advance so it's a bit difficult to stay excited for 3/4 of the year. The week or so after the initial booking is a bit of a high as we have the actual date and time etc. The next 'thrill' is probably 6 months before when we're able to make reservations for a character breakfast online. After that we probably start counting the weeks about 6 weeks before we go and I reckon the final 2 weeks before going my thoughts are obsessed with the trip and the anticipation at its peak

Before I no longer had Mondays, i.e., retired, the last couple of work days before our trip seemed to last about 48 hours each. "Hurry up and get here departure day!" And the afternoon of the last day at work before our trip, I quite frankly was thinking of other things than finishing that spreadsheet and setting my auto out of office reply for my e-mail and updating my voice mail message. And my packing list would grow to 2 pages so I'd have that conversation, "Do I really need to pack every Disney t-shirt I own? And won't 3 pairs of ears be okay? I can always buy another there." And the night before we leave, there's the phone call from my daughter "WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY!!!!!!" (yes, she is shouting in my ear on the phone) :)

I couldn't agree with that more...heck...some Friday's feel like weeks on their own.

Glad I am not the only one! I have been having a great time planning our first trip , will be there in 58 days! I am already starting to worry about what I will have to look forward to when we get home, but then I realize it will be summer, and that's good too. I do think the anticipation of a vacation is half the fun.

Our house a few months ago - "10 months from now we're on Spalsh Mountain!"
"244 days from now we're on Space Mountain!"
"6 months from now we're eating dinner at Be Our Guest"

We finally made it to "19 weeks from now..."

It's always 'right around the corner' for us.

Well since we're 51 days 14 hours 11 minutes and 14 seconds from take off I can't think of anything strange or different that I do. Oh wait, I guess every time I do laundry I think about if I'm going to pack or not pack the clothes as I fold them. Sigh, yeah I can't wait.

We always go in May so we book our next trip in August/September and once I put down the $200 payment life seems a little sweeter.

Absolutely. I tend to use the "if I was at Disney right now, I'd be..." line to get through many days..and having an actual arrival date at WDW is even better.

I have a tentative trip in the works, but no dates confirmed yet. I know its October/early Nov, but that's about it. But, that's enough to keep me by my normal days

The good thing for me is that even though I live out of state it's only a 7 hour drive to Disney for me, so it's not as hard for me because I know that if I needed just a day in Disney really bad it's not too tough on me to drive down for a day or two. Don't get me wrong though it's still depressing. As much as I am excited right now I'm already a little upset sometimes knowing that we will be leaving lol. I feel bad for all of you that live so far that you almost have to fly. That's got to be tough. I couldn't imagine lol.

One of the reasons I always have at least two trips planned is so I never have that dread of "nothing to look forward to" when the trip is over and I'm heading back to the "real world".

It seems to me like work and everything else in "the real world" seems a little easier to handle and it's hard to get worried or upset when a Disney World trip is coming. Is this true for everyone or is the struggle real whether Disney is coming or not. I personally am just in a better mood with my trip only 62 days away. What's your thoughts.
absolutely

169 days away, and my mind is so consumed by all things Disney, I can't imagine how I'm gonna make it until September 20 without bursting from the excitement! I am already positively giddy :p

I'm definitely looking forward to it but I feel so unprepared. There's a bunch of things that we need or I feel that we need that we don't have. It's making this trip a little more expensive then expected.
