Is there any update on SSE ending rumors?

Goodness, this is odd. How sure are we that those are sprinklers? They still don't look like it to me.

Also...Why not reactivate the moving star-field effect? It would fit and was very pretty.

they are sprinklers... I am 1000000% sure.. they are not sensors, and they have nothing to do with ANYTHING ride related.. the 'new triangles' simply obscured the fire suppresion system, so they had to bring them down and through.. can't block the spinklers after all..

I'm starting to think that all of these informed 'the finale isn't complete yet!' people are full of it.. it's been almost 3 years since the shut down.. be realistic.

These photos show nothing new that has been put in place within the last year, I can promise you that. This ranks right up there with eveyrone insisting the skyway station work in tomorrrowland was just a staircase being replaced.... yeah, ok... That was about 7 months ago... it's still walled-off.. the work obviously ties to the stitch stage somehow

They definitely are sprinklers. I know this because I used to do a lot of maintenance work when I was younger which involved me changing ceiling tiles, replacing light bulbs, and stringing network wiring above the drop ceiling.

That is most definitely a concealed sprinkler head (known as a concealed pendant), and the pipe fittings and pipe hanger confirm that it is a sprinkler. All the wishful thinking that it is something else just doesn't change the reality that it is a simple fire sprinkler.

Hmm...Intersting.

Referring to that last picture and the picture of the Triangle with the circle on it. Where's the nose? Behind the tri?

Not being impertinent, just want to know.

So...Why do their sources keep telling them this?:lookaroun

And why would they say it's nearing completion (T&A is going on now, apparently) ? If it's all a lie, how much longer can they say these things when they give us a time frame?:lookaroun

Martin has been assuring us that the finish is coming, its just taking longer than expected. I do think hes right because I can just feel it when riding through "this isnt done yet, but its going to be, they wouldnt leave it half done and nasty like this" but I admitt my hope keeps dwindling as time keeps moving and my faith in Imagineering is going down the tube, fast.

I'm starting to lose the faith myself, but Martin has very infrequently been wrong in the past, so I will hold out hope that the ride will eventually get finished.

If Disney would actually FINISH their projects before rushing to reopen them for peak seasons, we might not be having this conversation at all....:brick:

And it always seems to happen with Epcot, Test Track fiasco, Imagination fiasco, SE fiasco, MS problems, I think Soarin was the only thing that took off without issues. Seems like anyway. Well Nemo too.
As for the Mexico ride, well thats a whole different topic lol. But that too was botched up in my opinion. Wonders of Life no more.

I actually think the new Mexico ride is a huge improvement. The original was pretty dull and the new one at least gives the ride more of a Disney feel as well as being somewhat funny.

It's simply behind the circle. It's designed to "pop out" in the event it needs to. It's mean to be unobtrusive by embedding in into the ceiling. Which is why you've never noticed them before. :)

It's an improvement, but for some reason I miss the music.
Now now, let's keep this thread about SSE endings, or else we'll have yet another casualty of an SSE-descent thread turning into All EPCOT, All the Time! :ROFLOL:

I don't want the sources to be wrong.. and I trust Lee and Martin both know inside info.. but my faith in this particular instance is dying. nothing new has been noticable on the ride (to the naked eye) for months.. last 'new' thing was more triangles :)

We`ll see who's full of "it" won`t we?

What you expecting to see? AAs? The triangles (which have multiplied far more than I expected since I rode in July) are all that is show ready. The infrastructure is obviously not on show, nor is the showscene behind the curtain. Yes, it`s taking far longer than any of us hoped for. Yes, I was told February. Then April. And now WDI, TDO AND Siemens are getting fed up of the protracted test and adjust phase. As well as all of us. But they want it to be right.

Its def worth the wait for it to be done right. At least they want to do it right so thats a good thing. I bet Siemens has very well had it, or their PR person anyway. Thats really the only person their website that one can contact about it and I think hes getting the brunt of comments. Thanks Martin, we will try to stay optimistic and hope for the best outcome sometime soon.

I really wish I was around here more in the past couple months/years. I wouldn't have disliked the ride so much if I had been reading closely, and knew something else was coming. Definitely putting as much faith as possible in Lee and Martin.

I just want to see an awesome decent, no matter how long it takes...

Heh, thats the other problem Disney's created: now that this new descent has taken forever, just about evryone is expecting this mind-blowing, amazing descent. Can it possibly live up to some very high expectations? I'm trying to keep my expectations down a bit as to what will be there; don't want to reject the great because it isn't the amazing. :o

I too am trying to keep my expectations fairly low. I want a good decent, but I know it probably won't be as elaborate as the previous one.

Heck, if they do anything I will be happy.:D

Personally, I really admire Martin sticking to his guns, especially now with the heat that's coming from other boards (and old friends).

And not to call anyone out, but there has been a notable poster who has been silent on this issue here (and at his home forum).

This is all playing out like a grand and miraculous soap opera. Who will triumph in the end ... ? Will it be the pixie-high magic-mongerers, or the evil-laughing denizens of darkness?

The suspense is killing me.
