EPCOT Is the End of Innoventions Near?

Anyone else think it's weird Disney calls the East section West and West section East? I know that it is facing the opposite way, but come on. It confuses first timers and really old people.

What? West is on the west side and East is on the east side.

Like I said in my post, I know it faces the opposite way. But if you are a visitor facing the park it is listed with the opposites. I don't want people to have to take their compasses out to find people.

So do you think California should be the East Coast and Florida should be the West Coast?

LOL, that's totally different than lands that exist in parks.

Why would they call the building that is in the east of the park west, and the building in the west of the park East? It would make no sense? East and West aren't relative, they are fixed. Maybe you'd prefer Innoventions Left and Innoventions Right? But then that gets confusing if you're facing SSE....

I think you're confused, the one on the east side of the park is called Innoventions East, and likewise for West. Maybe you're getting your wires crossed with the Magic Kingdom where you enter the park from the south, but at EPCOT you enter from the north.

Nope.

When you look at a park map, the gate is usually at the botttom of that map. That doesn't mean that's South. When you enter Epcot's main gate, you're entering from the North facing South.

Now if you’re at the main gate, you are facing towards the south, as @MisterPenguin said. That means West is to your right and East is to your left.

But basically, just what we already know about the Spine project. The good and the bad.

I hate that phrase “More Disney, more family-friendly” though. Urgh! Families can like Epcot without needing IPs everywhere, why can’t they understand that? (That’s a rhetorical question btw).

I've had friends straight up ask me "why are there so many characters here? I'm not a kid" when it comes to Epcot. If your attractions are good enough, you don't need to stoop down and include IP. If you're lazy (or budget limited) and unsure of your work then sure, stick something in there to ensure max ROI.
