Sanctioned or not, the components of a World's Fair (NONE have been held in North America for ages, and so next to nobody on here has been to one) are basically the same components of Epcot both at inception and into the future. The theme they are aiming for is clear... World's Fair with a heavy Disney tilt. That does mean the end of Future World (which was never really a World's Fair thing anyway).

Have you been to one? I've been to 3. And I disagree with what you are saying - there were definitely some "future world" pavilions.

I'm still trying to figure out what (if any) cohesive theme they are going for at Epcot as a whole. Play pavillion, GotG, Beer Garden then there is the Land, Imagination, the Seas. I guess they don't really care to tie everything together?

Martin's awesome. The end.

But, going back to the original topic, the elements by name (Beer Garden, Festival Center, etc) leave the imagination to conjure up some horrible possibilities. I really want to see what these things look like since I think we all (excluding those that have seen the plans) are picturing very different things.

I think this brings up a good point - these "names" for the items are not the official, Disney names. These are an interpretation of them. While weary, I'll say that Disney tends to bend the norms and come up with new ways to display old ideas. If someone were to try to describe ToT in the planning phases, it probably would just say "drop tower", or the Tree of Life - "giant tree". A more recent example, and I know not everyone likes it, but Enchanted Tales with Belle would just be "Meet and Greet", when really they took a creative approach to it.

It really is going to come down to execution of these ideas, and for that I'm looking forward to the official announcement/concept art while also being concerned how wrong it could go.

How long has it been since Epcot as a whole had a cohesive theme? 1993?

Are we fighting? If we are, I would like to bring up the lack of true sausage based options before Germany in WS...TDO sucks and Martin has not brought up a single plan that addresses this shocking lack of tubular shaped meat products. I blame Martin and Katiebug for this travesty.
