Yah, you wouldn't want some close-to-the-ground stage set up for a special event there. That would totally ruin the realistic Hollywood feel...

ummm...we're not talking about a "close to the ground" stage here
if we are missing the beauty of the Chinese theater as we come down Hollywood Blvd and happy we are getting rid of the hat, well this lovely stage is still going to be an eyesore at times (IMO) as well...plus the view for fireworks would be better without it for those up close too

I hope not... but they have a lot of events with that stage and whether a hat is behind them or not I'm not sure where else they could put it right now

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
Stage lighting can be built in and around the area without needing to be above the performers much like at MK so hopefully (fingers crossed) they will build the necessary structures to hide the lighting and provide a retractable or low profile stage that will not impact views down Hollywood BLVD to the theater.
BTW, very glad to see those construction walls up and ready for the demo!

Every time my daughters and I have entered Hollywood Studios the stage has always been there! We all have fond memories of it. HS is not the same without the stage!

A realistic Hollywood feel would also include having a load of homeless people scattered around, Goofy would ask you for $5 after you get a photo and a few people getting arrested every now and then.

Instead they have minimum wage cast members scattered about, Goofy already has your $50 before you get a photo, and they rob you blind with nobody getting arrested.
