Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

Hey, Frozen fans...sing along. You sure know the tune
TEAR IT DOWN (with apologies to Idina Menzel)

The hat sits out on the courtyard tonight
Not a pin fan to be seen
A wall of isolation,
And it don't look very 'keen'.

The fans are howling like this swirling storm inside
Couldn't keep it up, heaven knows they've tried!

Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the big *** hat you always have to be
unbolt, don't stop, don't let them know
Well, now they know!

tear it down, tear it down
Can't hold it back anymore
Let it go, let it go
Turn away and slam the door!

I don't care
What they're going to say
Make the hat go away,
It always bothered me anyway!
It's funny how some people
Pretend to like the hat.
And their grief about it leaving
Ignores the park's theming.

It's time to see Great Movie Ride
To let guests actually know it's there
No hat, no stage, nothing will block...our view!

Tear it down, tear it down,
It's not part of Hollywood
Tear it down, tear it down,
You'll never see me cry!

There it stands,
But not for long,
Let the cranes come in!

The walls are up in preparation for demise
Bulldozers, cranes, and torches are waiting behind the scenes
And park maps no longer are scarred by its disgrace
It's never coming back!
Mistakes are in the past!

Tear it down, tear it down
Hollywood boulevard will rise
Tear it down, tear it down
The big *ss hat is dead!

There it stands!
Blocking everything!
Let the cranes come in
The word temporary is meaningless.

Let the joyous news be spread! The Big A** Hat, at last, is DEAD!!!

So happy its finally coming down, it will be nice to have the old view back, one of which I had never gotten to see yet. Hopefully the stage stays away as well. I was thinking, if they do want to use that as a stage area, they should build in lighting and speakers so that they kinda just pop up out of the ground when in use. Like they do for Illuminations and Fantasmic in Disneyland. Just so it doesn't obstruct any more views.

And didn't some group have to practically force Epcot to do something for their anniversary? At least with Epcot though you got a little walkthrough on it's history. I liked that. Wish it had been kept.

Yep.

EPCOTs 25th Anniverary happened because a certain purple dragon posted a thread on this very forum which initiated a rallying call to Park fans after Disney announced there was to be no public celebration or event.
A very dedicated group of fans then came together via that thread and it snowballed into a huge positive movement. Made press, internet media, and waves around the fan community.
It was quite a thing to watch happen.

It ended up making a big difference in the final outcome, as Disney did a complete turnaround in attitude and rolled out the red carpet in a fitting way on October 1st, 2007.
That day was a awesome one...and a great experience for any and every EPCOT Center fan past and present.

My contribution to honor those who dreamed, and those who built, that stunning Park concept.

I will always remember that Event, as it is not every day you have Marty Sklar shake your hand and say -
* Thank you for kicking them ( Disney ) in the *** to get going on this..!*
:)
