Thank you for the picture! I know this is an easier demolition, but I love the pace at which it's moving!

BTW, for anyone hoping that Disney's keeping the hat, the dumpsters behind the fence say "SCRAP". I'm not saying we will never see a sorcerer hat again, but it won't be this one.

They say C R A P now, the S fell off overnight.:joyfull:

I agree... but one could also say what's in the scrap thus far is only the gold spiral pieces

So here is the real Chinese Theatre behind Craig Ferguson, who used to work for CBS but before that was Mr. Wick on the Drew Carey Show on ABC, the network that Disney owns, and he comes from Scotland which is in the UK which is a lot like England in EPCOT, so of course it all must be connected, right? So it's obvious that the newest icon for the Studios must be a giant animatronic Geoff Peterson, because (after all) his arm works which is more than you can say for the Yeti.

And that, my friends, is how logic works on one of these boards.

This is taking too long...Let's get out the Big Guns and cut this in slices quicker...
trencher2_smd-1.jpg

they would have demolished the entire sunset boulevard to get that thing near the hat!

also, reminds me about that gigantic coal cargo truck.
capable of moving more than 400 tons of material.

I'm surprised that is all that they were able to remove last night. The park closes at 7pm and by the time it is cleared it is 9:30 or so. They have from 10p - 5a (7 hours). I know that they have to raise the crane and get everything ready. I would think that they should be able to do more than that. Then again, I don't do construction and everything that I do at home takes me double what I think it should take.

I have done a lot of "lifts" with cranes to remove equipment from rooftops of the buildings I manage. I can tell you that lifting things as large as these takes a great deal of patience, skill and time. Each piece must be properly rigged, inspected, inspected again and than lifted very slowly and carefully. Just one cable not right, or not keeping the center of balance in side the lift will send the load and the cranes crashing to the ground. If you want to kill someone on a job site, rush a lift of this size and you will have one accident after another on your hands.

makes you wonder just how much the hat parts weight.
If they are so heavy and big that they need to be cut in these smaller rings.
