Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

It's Presidents' Day week. Most of the schools in the North East are on break that week....and it's generally very crowded down there that week.

That's all well and good, but the contractor doesn't demand the time table. The client (Disney) does. You can't sit there and tell me they would start a major demolition project during Christmas/New Years week....and they are reportedly avoiding the start of the hat demo during marathon weekend....yet they pick the next busiest time period. Doesn't compute...but regardless, you can't claim this is beyond disney's control when they clearly controlled the start of this to avoid two other high traffic park times. Sorry.

You have presidents week in February, spring break in March and April, then June July and August the kids are out of school for summer break. October the kids are going to have fall break, then November Thanksgiving break, and Christmas break in December. That leaves January and September. They can't get it done in one month so it's inevitably going to fall during a busy time of the year. They have to pick some busy time of the year and they're not going to wait till September.

Is there really another slow time of the year that they could possibly do this? I don't think so. It's always busy there now. They have to do it sometime and I am sure that they would prefer not to do it during December.

They didn't want to have construction walls in every shot of the Christmas parade... ;)

If they didn't want to do work during 'busy times' that leaves very little time for them to do anything in all honesty. I don't see them being that concerned with Presidents Day week. Walls around the hat aren't going to be a big deal.

Yes, I could...but this time I will not... since it isn't true.

If you're talking about the "Pixar Pals Countdown to Fun!" parade then it is short and non-Christmas. If you're thinking about the "Festival of Fantasy Parade" or the "Disney's Christmas Day Parade" then wrong park. ;) They would have no problem having walls up during that parade in DHS. Their biggest issue with doing it during this time of the year is the insane crowd levels.

I just don't buy them caring about crowd levels during a busy week in February. If that's when they want the hat down, that's when the hat will come down.

Slight problem is that the Countdown to Fun parade doesn't run anymore. There is no DHS parade now.

That wasn't the premise that was argued. It was argued that the start date was *beyond* disney's control and entirely up to the contractor based on the contractor's availability/timeframe....and that's just not plausible. If Disney doesn't give two hoots about tearing down the hat during presidents week and decides to rip it down then, that's one thing - no matter how moronic I think it is to do it then....but if they deem it not a big deal and desire it down then, so be it.

But the idea that the demo contractor comes in and solely determines the time-table, is just stupid.

I think they should make a thematic event of the BAH demise like the old hotels in Vegas.

An ironic approach could be Elsa with a flame thrower. Think of the Ying and Yang, Alpha and Omega conflict.

An in character approach would be to pipe liquid nitrogen to the peak of the hat. Have Elsa cast her spell. Then have a pre-installed pneumatic hammer hit the hat and shatter into millions of pieces. All accompanied with lights and lasers. The resulting vapor from the nitrogen would make for a fabulous backdrop for the lasers.

TCM will work with Disney Imagineers to give a makeover to the ride's film-montage finale. It also will install a classic-movie-themed scene in which visitors can have photos taken. "onride Photos?"

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/os-disney-turner-classic-movies-20141126-story.html

"Osborne will also provide audio for the ride, including more in-depth explanations of the film genres it explores."

Does this mean they're getting rid of a live cast member guide that is also part of the show?

I think the sentinel article confused Osborne being included in the queue film to on ride audio but maybe we will hear him on the ride. Doesn't necessarily mean the cast members are going away.
