Is Tapestry of Dreams still have a chance

Back in 2004 I went to Epcot to find that Tapestry of Dreams was no longer being performed. I asked a worker about that and they said they were trying to bring it back. I dont know if he meant the Disney company was trying to get it back or there was a fight online like the lights of winter one WDWmagic. I know it is 2010 but are they still putting some kind of focus on the parade.

You mean does it have a chance? No.

Physical injuries from performers, safety of cast and guests and the fact the promonade is now far too cluttered will prevent a similar parade.

^What Martin said. :(

With that in mind, while the first two rule out consideration of a ToN/ToD like parade, it would be nice to see the promenade de-cluttered regardelss of a new parade. It really has gotten terrible in recent years with all the food/merchandise structures. :fork:

This is sad but true. No room for a parade anymore. :(

LOVED ToN...ToD, too, even though it was the lesser version.

Sigh...A parade in EPCOT really was a great thing. So many great memories from ToN.

Man o man, there was no theme park atmosphere EVER like EPCOT 2000. I was there 3/2000 for ToN in my pre-fanboy days :)lol:), and for that I am most thankful now.

No offense pioner- but every thread title so far you've posted has a fairly large spelling or grammar error.

:p

I don't think it has a chance- I'd like to see a brand new parade myself.

You know, that was exactly it. The whole park had a great feel to it. It was really a celebration...Wand, Tarps, ToN, RoE, Everything added up.

I miss that.

I wish! I still listen to the soundtrack in my car for nostalgic purposes, and I really miss it. Maybe someday the clutter will lessen, and there will be room again. We can dream right?

I didn't think it would last either but was wondering if I was giving up hope to soon.

:ROFLOL: I didn't even notice that. Its bad enough that I make the title last because it is hard for me to find a good one. I hope you have seen worse :).

Oh me too, me too. Epcot during that time was incredible. I loved ToN. Alot. I loved sitting in Morocco, right across from one of the backstage gates. We would watch one section of the parade come out, then watch the next segment coming and then exit through that gate. Awesomness. :D

I, however, hated ToD. I still watched, because things I loved about the original were still there, but other things really bugged me. Those new fairy characters were really annoying (though the Dreamcatcher float was kind of cool), and I hated the additions to the soundtrack... all the kids saying, "My dream is... " "My dream is..."

But the thing that irritated me the most was something I'm sure most people wouldn't notice. I always loved the bit of "Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand" that was in ToD. I loved how it fit into the music. I completely understood why they edited it out for ToD... I mean, it wasn't the Millenium Celebration anymore. But what bugged me was that it wasn't edited well at all. You could still hear the first two notes of "Celebrate..." before it crudely jumped to the next section... Ugh. It grated on my nerves every time!

Anyway, I'm glad they still play the original score for ToN after RoE, and that you can see footage of the puppets on the Earth Barge during the show.

I missed that year out of all the years :(.

It was the the voice overs, if anything that killed it. They could have sounded
much more mature, and instead of nixing the Sage of Time, they could have kept him, with the Dreamseekers. But yeah, besides that...At least it had the ToN puppets.

I echo what everyone said about ToN and ToD. ToN was mature, graceful, and majestic. ToD was cluttered, scattered, and annoying. The Sage of Time is one of my all time favorite Disney "characters", up there with Timekeeper.

I also liked the idea of the Wand and Tarps more back then because they were part of that overall rebranding of Epcot. The new Innoventions, Millennium Village, etc

As for it coming back, I know they brought out the puppets for one of the New Years Eve parties a few years ago, and that the parade was an option for some closed events even further back, but I imagine the drum floats have been salvaged for parts for the other parades, costumes reused and discarded, etc.

I just wish they retired the parade after a few years instead of giving us the nightmarish ToD....

I saw ToN twice during my first and second trips in 11/99 and 6/01 respectively but I cannot count the amount of times I have listened to the music. Even without the physical parade the music still plays after IllumiNations and that is good enough for me.

According to the back-story the Sage of Time can only walk the Earth every thousand years or 999 in case they need him to stay for another 9 months..:animwink:

So Martin.... you wouldnt happen to know where i could see a video of such a wonderful parade?

It's not the greatest quality video, but this is the most-complete video I've yet to find online of the entire parade, especially one taken at night (when I think the parade was most beautiful and had the greatest impact)

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8097388846876116016#

Oh, and may favorite, most "goosebumpey" moment in the parade comes at about 17:30 in the video... What other parade at WDW elicited gasps, whoops and spontaneous applause?
