It has gotten much better over the past few months.
In the fan circles I travel, Disney fans are some of the harshest and in some cases rudest fans I've encountered and it's been that way since I logged on for the first time 8 years ago. The only type of fan that I've encountered that are worse are online gamers. Granted, that is just my experience, your mileage may vary.
With that said, there will always be people who refuse to not only see the good, but not see Walt Disney World for what it is, a theme park where you exchange your money to make memories.
Once someone crosses over from seeing it as a business to seeing it as having some other higher purpose (whatever that may be...EPCOT Center), that's when the cycle of perpetual disappointment starts.
I think it is perfectly reasonable to not be pleased with your stay or your perceived value. What baffles me are folks who continue to go after numerous bad experiences. We even have had posters here claim that the last time they enjoyed WDW was in 1994 and they are still going back.
