Is it easier to add a person or delete a person from a ADR??

Right now were only booking everything for two of us, because our third friend is waiting to hear back about a work term for school, which she wont know about unitl atleast Feb. We dont want to wait that long to book, espcially our ADR's.
We are going to book our ADR's at the 180 day mark, and just incase she can come is it easier to add a person on when she books, or would it be easier to book for three now and call and take a person off if she cant come? Is there any charge if we call before hand and take her off?

I would make the ADRs with 3 people. It's easier to remove a person there then to try to add one on.

I'd think if you had to do one or the other, better to make ressies for 3. They'll then probably set you up at a table big enough for 4 (as opposed to a table big enough for two). They'd probably be unhappy if they had to seat a party of two at a table for 4, but the flip side is heving too many people at too small a table, perhaps making it hard for the wait staff to navigate around you, etc.

Yep, definitely make them for 3. We've gotten in the situation several times now of trying to add an additional person later and have never had any luck.

DELETE! A few years back my mom decided to join us, sort of last minute. There were already 4 of us and it was very hard to add one more because then we needed a bigger table. I learned my lesson and for my December trip added one extra to every meal. I have a feeling my dad is going to decide last minute to join my family, mother and sister. So better to be safe than sorry.

Go with 3 and if later you have to remove one it's easier. Tip: if they tell you there is nothing available for 2 when trying to remove the one person, just keep the ressie at 3 and when you get to the restaurant tell them when you check in that you now only have 2 people, someone got sick or something.
