Is EPCOT too dark at night?

Is it just me or do others find EPCOT a little to dark at night. I wish they would light up the pavilions and walkways a little more. I always feel like I'm going to crash into the people walking against me and I think a little more light would bring out the rich details of the park at night.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

It does get a little dark, expecially in some spots of Innoventions. The bridge between Futureworld and World Showcase is the worse. Not to mention its probably hard for parents to keep track of they're kids in that darkness.

Yeah, TDO needs to embed more lights into the sidewalks. Those are awesome.

I walked right into one of the flower beds once while walking out of the park and getting tossed around in the crowds. I had no idea it was there and no I was not drinking.

It has always been dark in EPCOT since the beginning. I think the darkness adds to each of the countries, and in future world, the colors of the lights on the buildings.

I agree somewhat but feel that the walk ways between the countries can be dangerously dark...

They could use ground level lights shining out like ground level spotlights across the ground.

I have sensitivity to light, so I can see really really well in the dark.

Yes my kids love the fiber optics in the sidewalk they could really get creative with this and make it pretty neat.

Would be great if they designed some fiber optics designs into the walkways to match the countries near by. I hope they read this and run with the idea...

I've honestly never thought about this before 'cause I've never had any problems at Epcot at night with vision. Even though I'm an older guy, my regular vision is 20/20. My near vision on the other hand, is another story. I have SAD (Short Arm Disease ), so I just keep upgrading the drugstore cheaters...!

I don't think the World Showcase is too dark, but the walkways on the west side of future world, especially between The Land, Living Seas, and Imagination and the back wall of Innoventions West can be depressingly dark and empty at night.

Been to illuminations about 100 times and have never walked into anything or tripped. I think the lightng is pleasant and lends itself to romance.

They are right. When it's late and people are heading towards world showcase for illuminations that part of the park can be very dark and eerie.

I haven't had any issues navigating EPCOT at night, but if they want to install more fiber-optic lights into the sidewalk to better illuminate the paths I would fully support it.

Otherwise I worry that too much light would take away the ambiance of the pavilion lighting. I can walk around after having a few drinks, taking pictures every 10 feet, and never came close to walking into anything. I avoid the rush out of the park though so maybe the issue is the crowds.

Yes. Certain areas have big lighting issues. As do pavilions.
