Is EPCOT too dark at night?

Personally, I think it's fine. It makes the attractions/countries stand out more with their own lighting.

For one thing, it "hides" the crowds. When it might be an issue is if you're coming out of a brightly lit area (e.g. shop) and then step outside; your night vision has been affected and will need to reacclimate (generally less than 30m, depending on duration/intensity/color of light exposed to).

I agree the park is not wel lit in some areas and can be dangerous. I think it also gives some great ambiance as well. The Morocco pavillion at night is great.

I agree, some of the pavilions are beautifully lite but the walk ways between them, especially between Japan and Morocco can be dangerously dark. Japan is set pretty far back from World Showcase and the pavilion itself is dimly lite. I don't want to see flood lights, just something a little brighter than what already exist.

i totally LOVE the low lighting and ambiance!!!! honestly, the whole illuminations setting is pure magic and i love the feeling it delivers. imo, too much light cheapens the experience and really takes away from the theme. again, (imo) adventureland and fronteirland really deliver here too.

I'm so glad I'm not the only person that thinks this :p
I tripped and fell right into a flower bed once because of it.... My family got a kick out of that lol (in my defense, I hadn't gotten my glasses yet....)

But yeah, they need more lights. Especially in the world showcase!
Me too. When I came out of La Cava..Slipped on a slice of lime, and fell into a pot of Margarita Flowers..Oh Ma Heid in the morning.;)

Nice to see that others agree with me. I like most of the lighting of the world showcase pavilions but some of the walkways need either more or brighter lights.

I love Epcot dark and dreamy. Great ambiance at night.

Animal Kingdom is the park I had difficulties with. That was dark in its evening EMHs years ago, especially with its odd sidewalks.

I absolutely love Epcot at night. It's just got a certain feeling to it that you can't get anywhere else. I actually liked AK at night the one time we went and they had late EMH. It really felt like you were thousands of miles away, especially between EE and Dinoland.
