Is EPCOT too dark at night?

I agree that it gets a little too dark. Although I love the ambiance of the fire lighting the paths, with all of the people lining up for Illuminations, there isn't a lot of room to navigate in some places and the darkness definitely doesn't help that.

Yes I think it's a little dark. Some of the pathways and through the world showcase is a little dark.

I have thought that a couple times when being there. They need to fix that.

Agreed.

Been to illuminations about 100 times and have never walked into anything or tripped. I think the lightng is pleasant and lends itself to romance. :)

I think that it is one of the more romantic places in Disney... but I am biased since my husband proposed to me in Paris... ;)

One of my favorite things to do is to walk the countries at night after the park has cleared out and it is just the two of us. Seriously, you feel as if you are alone by yourselves. One of the nicest things is that, no one, not once, has ever pushed us out or told us to hurry along. You can't find that aspect anywhere else (I was literally pushed out of a Barnes & Noble recently). I find it a very relaxing and romantic way to wind up the evening.

Also, another key bonus for lingering longer after the crowds depart is that sometimes on lucky nights, you don't have to walk to your bus stop. You simply walk onto the first available bus and you get your own personal escort home. As someone who stays at Value Resorts, it can be a long walk. And I fear that walk may be getting longer as in MK they are making more bus stops.

It has always been dark in EPCOT since the beginning. I think the darkness adds to each of the countries, and in future world, the colors of the lights on the buildings.

I agree. I enjoy the dark it allows you to get some photos that wouldn't be nearly as cool if the place was lit up like the Vegas strip.

The bridge connecting England and France definitely needs some better lighting.

Agreed. Overall, it could use some more lighting though. I mean, I have yet to see Illuminations from a WS pavillion but I mean, I don't know if I can handle walking all the way back to Future World, then to the buses with not a whole lot of lighting to guide me. I suppose you could follow the crowd in a way but some more lights would be nice. Guess I'm watching Illuminations from Future World indefinitely.....

The bridge between France and England gets my vote for too dark. A well placed lamp would do wonders on that particular spot.

Putting more fiber optic lights in the pavement is horrible. They provide 0 ambient lighting and cause jams when people start to jump all over them.

...but there's only 2-3 of them and they're all in central walkways.
If there were more of them, and in more obscure places like the west side of future world they wouldn't be in anyone's way, and kids or other people who want to enjoy them could do so without inconveniencing other guests.

I agree. They should put them in dead spots, mainly between the pavilions where it can be very dark just before Illuminations.

I agree the park is not wel lit in some areas and can be dangerous. I think it also gives some great ambiance as well. The Morocco pavillion at night is great.
