Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

That's the only scenario I was commenting on. I've been really clear about that.
Kind of clear by implication that I would discourage someone with a booked vacation.

I have a customer that is finally in a financial condition whose dream is and can afford to take his extended family of 25 to WDW. This is his "I have made it" life goal. What do you tell the guy?? WDW was such an overwhelming experience even in the paper FP Era.

I avoid talking to him about it.

I would talk to him. WDW is the perfect vacation for extended families across all generations.

There’s something to interest everyone, transportation is available so groups aren’t tied together; DS is a great place for entertainment - the boat rides are fun.

I could give him tons of advice. WDW doesn’t have to be overwhelming unless you’re trying to do too much. There’s so much to do there that people go in with unrealistic expectations.

Not if he has to play TA and cat herder for all of them, I hope he made enough to get a pro for that

If @Nubs70 has become so disenchanted that he has stopped visiting WDW altogether, then I can understand his reticence to say anything. But anyone who posts here and continues to go to Disney would have a lot of useful information to share with first-time visitors.

After going to WDW since 2008 to 2021ish, 1x to 2x per year, the increase in prices, diminished inclusions, and increases in trip complexity, the experience does not meet my value proposition.

While I would try to help someone who has already book, I would certainly not encourage someone who was considering booking a vacation to WDW based on my post covid experience.

My standard reply now is, "you do know that it is actually the same price, if not slightly cheaper, to spend a week in Europe?"

My standard vacation allotment is now 1 winter week in Cancun then 2 summer weeks in Europe. I'm heading to Portugal this summer with a side trip to the Azores. 2 persons for 2 weeks for about $5k flights inclusive (may increase a bit depending on excursions)
Family went on vac to Azores and rental staff are a bunch of crooks preying on tourists. Upon returning our rental the staff member walked around the car and notated dent, scratch , scrape etc etc and spoke no English. Luckily my sibling videotaped the rental car prior to leaving rental lot a few days prior. When the crook saw the video he ripped up his inspection damage sheet. A number of tourists just dropped off their cars and fall prey to this scam. We learned this from reviews and others who vacationed at Azores. You could not pay me enough to vacation in cartel violent Cancun where some guests have been drugged, robbed , assaulted and even killed.

And yet many people who visit the Azores and Cancun manage to enjoy themselves.

Not after the rental car exp.
The implication of your post was that one should stick with Disney because travelling further afield could result in some sort of terrible experience at the hands of scammers or criminals. That seems more than a little alarmist to me. People shouldn't be afraid to explore what the world has to offer.

Your words “ stick with Disney “, not mine.

Oh that sounded like my "vacations", but I was on the offensive side not the defense and these were not destinations that anyone would like to go in their right mind.
Some have their transport arranged for them and we thank them profusely and others choose to tour the third world for the unique experiences, thanks

Azores car scam?? That's why you take a picture of the entire car upon pick up. I do the same thing in the states and have full car coverage courtesy on my Visa card.

Cancun - enough to do on resort so no need to venture into areas where one may be drugged, robbed or even killed.

Regardless of full car coverage catching the crooks in the act is what we did and addressed it. No scamming this family on Azores vacation.

So... giving people advice/setting realistic expectations on what to expect when they've never been to WDW before is a bad thing, and pumping the place up and not mentioning the levels of complexity involved these days is good.

The mental gymnastics some people need to post that level of twaddle is just unreal.

Who said that? Can you quote the post?
