Is attendance really down at WDW this or…

…discounted annual passes…which would work in a New York minute (figurative and literally)
I thought we'd be there by now, but I don't think it's coming at all.

Back to TA discounts. Looks like my wife, myself, and our 6 kids will be going early next summer. 7 days in 2 standard rooms at Wilderness Lodge with 3 day tickets all around for less than $6,400.

AKL and CS are also in consideration at a much lower cost, but they've never stayed at WL and I think they'll love it.

I agree…and my strong “hunch” as to why is that it doesn’t have a 7 day “expiration date” on the “losses”

But also bring in tons of ancillary spending from their core locked in clientele.

…you can’t make this $&@! Up 🙄

As an agent you see what a steep discount that is…but it reinforces to me just how off their pricing dynamics are in today’s environment.
These are not “Main Street” prices…and the country club is behind a gate

You’ll love it

My 3 no particular favs are beach, wilderness and DAKL…the last two being the great Pete Dominick designs

Unfortunately we’re slumming in in the poly Next time out 🤪

We have a (non-Disney) cruise booked in a suite area on a new ship and it's still cheaper than our upcoming Disney trip. 😂
But comparably - Disney cruises are more expensive with less to offer (in our opinion) than other cruise lines with better accommodations.

Although Treasure looks very interesting.
The Treasure is the Wish v2. The gang who designed those ships didn't have the foggiest idea of what they were doing, at least as far as designing for DCL. Took the good parts and shrunk them, took the stuff most don't want and expanded them. And bars... bars everywhere.

If your extrapolation proves to be correct, that's a first - Disney is tying their attendance hopes to the parks up the freeway. That would be, for me, jaw dropping, and an indication that they have truly lost their way. And in the category of something I never, ever expected to read about in my lifetime.

Thanks, Bob.

How long have the 'after hours' events been around?

I've always known folks from south east FL that would get priced out of Disney, give UoR a try and then get their Disney fix w/ lower priced Parties (a decade or so ago).

I just see the 'after hours' as a way for someone to spend one night seeing a park and ensuring lower waits/crowds. Disney's selling of the park a 2nd time in a day is where I see them hoping to pick up some guest from other local destinations.

Started in 2016, under $lappie, with 7 MK events at $149/person. Have grown like a weed since expanding in 2018, although the second and third years they had to drop the price because they couldn't sell out without needing DVC/AP discounts in 2016.

The local market typically isn’t down with $30 an hour gate fees

If you stay at Wilderness Lodge , just double check the front desk CM does not stick you with the view of the backstage loading dock where truck deliveries happen day and night and a view ( and scent ) of the huge garbage dumpsters. There are a number of rooms that front this area.

Well bars are easy money…

And Disney has space because they don’t bother with unique specialty dining like those fools on the big lines

As far as bad designs go…I have to give Norwegian credit…they built the first 2 viva class ships…they’re terrible…so they are completely redesigning the others.

Disney should have done the same

Those rooms have enclosed balconies so you can’t see the Smokehouse or trucks unloading unless you stand outside on your balcony and look down.

And the aroma is NOT garbage but yummy barbecue.

Bonus is those rooms have a perfect view of MK fireworks.

I have spent many nights in those rooms.

How many nights have you?
